Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony gives PS3 to kid who saves dad's truck

cebrian,

A 9 year old can and has driven a big rig before. And if he was regularly in the cab with his dad, he most likely would have had knowledge of how to slow down the truck, downshift and get to the side of the road as best as possible.

How do I know? At age 9 I would drive my fathers semi alongside the combine to fill it with corn then park it near the exit of the field for someone else to drive it to the elevator and unload the grain.

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

Sony needs to pull a couple more of these. Just find some kid that did something cool and likes his PS or PS2, and offer him a PS3 and some games, they lose like 500 bucks and score millions worth of advertising.

Well that was nice on Sony's part.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

I've seen the interview of the little boy some weeks ago, actually his dad passed out and the boy jumped on his lap to keep the truck on the road, but since he didn't knew how to stop it, he got the CB and called for help, another truck driver told him to turn the ingnition key and he did as told.

This smart kid deserves his PS3.

He deserves more than a PS3, but a PS3 is a damn spiffy reward for your dad passing out at the wheel of the truck you're in.

Let see what Nintendo and Microsoft do after this.

Maybe they will do the same? Does anyone have any ideas?

Actually this is Sony following the example of Nintendo =P There are plenty of Nintendo PR moves just from the 9 months the Wii has been out, and two examples of how to handle mistakes (see "wii-mote straps" and "endless ocean issues in japan")

Its good to see that Sony is getting the idea that customers should come first.  Now if MS can get the idea we will have a 100% customer oriented market.

PS - Warranty extension doesn't count, the did it way too late after the issues were so widespread that they were forced to deal with it and it should of been a recall anyways.
