Remember, regardless of VGChartz hype (I think we got into this hype discussion a long time ago) I am sure that nobody here expected Gears 2 and/or Halo 3 numbers.

After 2 years the 360 dropped to $279 for it's cheapest model, when the arcade debuted.

Then it took until after the 2 1/2 year mark for even the arcade to drop below $280.

So how would that not be too expensive but if PS3 was in this position it would be?

This is what we keep getting at. It is not too expensive, if it was then the PS3 would not be selling as close to the 360 as it is.

PS3 hasn't been out for 3 years yet, it has been out for a little over 2 and a half, a little over 2 in Europe.

Although a half year in 2 territories and almost 1 full year in another, no big difference right?

This thread is disappointing. Tons of trolling going on, and it should be a lock. I wholeheartedly agree with wfz's thread about the nodding problem on this site. Nothing goodcan come from this thread, no one is even on topic anymore.

Thing is, we see the same people coming into Sony threads and find some reason to attack time and time again. You want to do that, fine, no skin off my back.

Although look in this thread and look at the 2 people being quoted the most and being argued to on what "PS3/Sony fans" say. Realize that those 2 people are actually 2 of the people who really do not fit that criteria.

You have a problem with what some Sony fans said? Go say it to them, don't quote me and argue it with me. It is like arguing with a brick wall. I honestly could care less about people outside of VGChartz said or what other users besides me said. You want to bring things like that up to me, just make sure that I myself said it.

Also look at realize how this thread went off-topic in the first place. Someone clearly misunderstanding what was said due to jumping the gun and attacking a user in this thread for what PS3/Sony fans say about "saviors" and "Just wait until", etc...

Are we reading the same thread? I was talking about LBP sales and how people said they were a disapointment as well and MakingMusic responding saying "Yet it outsold Mass Effect".

Nobody was talking about KZ2 outselling ME.

This is another one of this sites problems. People get accused of saying and/or doing things that were not even said and/or done.

You are still comparing KZ2 to not only games that had holiday releases but games that had 3m+ and 8M+ fanbases. Those other 2 games also had the benefit of a holiday boost for numerous weeks.

Everyone needs to give the game time before declaring what it disappointing or not.

A PS3 shooter just isn't going to sell Halo 3 and/or Gears 2 numbers. The demographic is different from the 360. Will it possibly sell W@W numbers? I think it could, but I won't know until at least the holiday season.

We should let this thread die though, it really isn't going anywhere.

Thats just it.  The Xbox 360 IS too expensive.  The only reason it took so long to come down in price is the advent of Rrod and the costs associated with it for Microsoft.

Please stop assuming that I am knocking Sony to promote Microsoft.  Until very recently, the Xbox 360 was overpriced, as the PS3 still is.  And hell, look at the Elite.  I mean thats just ridiculous.

Well I can respect that then, but the reason it is easily taken as an attack is because it has zero to do with the topic at hand. It is mearly an off-topic dig at the current PS3 position. 

It would be like some going into a Star Ocean 4 sales thread where SE says they are happy with the sales and people come in and say it is disappointing and that 360 is doing bad because PS3 is selling on par.

The above has happened and I know not many users here were crazy about that and didn't like it. (In regards to people saying SO4 sales are disappointing)

nobody expectd star ocean 4 to sell and wasnt hyped. sony fans grasping at any straws they can to make the failure of the ps3 a good thing. sony its time to put the mule ps3 down or else itll take the hole farm down.
