The "why" of this is what tempers my anger. There is no good reason for this, and i am more puzzled than outraged (mostly because i don't particularly care for this game)

I mean it's there, it's an established brand, it'll sell. Just do it.

Exactly. There isn't a good reason for this, at all.

There is a good reason.  Nintendo do not care about a game unless there is a almost 100% sure chance it will sell well.  They care about money, not gamers.

at least they haven't caused a company to completely crumble by forcing them to stop a localization.

they were 80% done with a game, when Sony revoked their liscense for the games release.

Nintendo are being so stupid.

If they had any sense they would cater for their more core audience as wll as their new casual audience. Fatal Frame (and Disaster) would have given people something worthwile to play while waiting for other titles like MadWorld and House of the Dead. But because very few quality core games have been released the last year, this whole audience has abandoned the Wii.

I'm so angry right now. Nintendo promised "real" games before christmas, and gave us Animal Crossing (!). This was one of few Wii games I was looking forward to.

Goodbye, Nintendo. Being a Nintendo fan has never been this embarassing.

The most logical reason to not release FF4 I can come up with are these:

1.) Profitability - NoA possibly thinks this game can't achieve to be profitable for them in NA.
This may be a sign of a "shareholder value" business model.

2.) Image loss - Nintendo positioned themselves as a family friendly company and üerhaps somehow they think FF4 could tarnish this image and decided to not release it because of this.
Third party software like the recent Madworld may indicate that this isn't the reason, so it could be ..

3) Corporate philosophy (atleast for NoA) - Maybe Nintendo has no intention on releasing FF4, because the game is incompatible to their corporate philosophy of releasing games everyone can enjoy.

In my opinion it's likely a combination of these points, but if you think it could be sth. entirely different, then feel free to add your reasons.

Doesn't make sense anyway.

It's a very bad move in the long run to refuse the last few "real" gamers with a Wii quality game like this.

"real gamers"? LOL!

People who play Imagine Party Babyz aren't real gamers, because that isn't even a game.
