What does everyone think will be the game of the year, my picks are : Wii-Super Mario galaxy 360-Bioshock DS-Phantom Hourglass ALL-Super mario galaxy(i hope)

I'd say the top candidates will be:
Bioshock
SM Galaxy
Halo 3 (though I think the game is a bit overhyped)
maybe Rachet & Clank...

Hell.. maybe even Rock Band if it does well.

Bioshock for the 360, followed by the Halo3.
Galaxy for the wii.
Uncharted for the PS3, followed by ratchet and clank.
Crysis for the PC.

But Bioshock overall, this game is by far the best thing this year.

There is no GOTY organization. You have to be more specific, which country, which publication?

Mario Galaxy.

We could have a VGChartz Game of the Year...

Mario Galaxy or Halo 3 IMO.

If the not yet released games are like previews are telling us, it will be Mario Galaxy without a doubt.

It's between Mario Galaxy or Bioshock.

If VGChartz had a GOTY, I'm 100% sure that Mario Galaxy would win, with Metroid Prime 3 and SSBB taking the second and third spots. :) VGChartz just loves Nintendo that much.

Oh, and Mario Party 8 and Super Paper Mario would be runner-ups.

Well...I'm sure Mario, Metroid, and SSBB will all get above 9s, and are serious contenders for GOTY awards...not that farfetched to see them on the top 3.

But I'd say Bioshock and Mario will be the two big contenders for most GOTY awards.

I think it's going to be a very close race between Super Mario Galaxy (Wii), Mass Effect (360), and Bioshock (360, PC). Also, I'm going by the Game Developers Choice Awards.

Like I said last night, I'll wait to say which one wins it until I actually play all three and I'm fully aware that there could be some left field hit that could knock any of those out but as it stands those seem to be the best three games of the year.

Halo 3 won't make it because, well, why would it make it? Just because a game is insanely popular doesn't make it the best game of the year. It really hasn't done much new and it's only Halo. I know people are going to jump on me for saying this, but Halo 3 will not be on the Game of the Year list. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not the best.

Super Smash Bros Brawl I think will be another awesome game but it doesn't go in the best category. Just like Halo it will do some amazing things and sell a crap load of games but it won't see the GOTY category. Maybe if it were last year these games would have a chance but not a chance in Hell this year.

For Ratchet and Clank, this one won't be on the list either. From the impressions I've read it's supposed to be good but nothing spectacular. I could be wrong, but just judging from the impressions this game will stay in the 8-9 range which means it's still a great game you shouldn't pass up but one that won't make the GOTY list.

As for which one will win it if you forced me to guess I would have to say Super Mario Galaxy. Bioshock is a great game but it has its fair share of bugs and gameplay is slightly flawed which will keep it from winning. I think Mass Effect will be a great game but games like that just have such a hard time actually winning the title. With SMG, there are no bad impressions of the game out there. Everything *always* says something along the lines of best game ever, true successor to Mario 64, and I couldn't stop smiling. Yeah, it's just another Mario game (to go with my Halo comment) but it's an amazing Mario game that can't make people stop smiling.
