I bought it brand spanking new 3 years ago (2006 for those you cant keep up with years) for 26.00 + tax. I was surprised after all that time i could still find one in its original wrap

Yes, it's an excellent game. If you can look past the very outdated graphics, you'll find one of the best RPGs you can play

At this point the game is not worth it. I would go for either Final Fantasy 8 or 9 both of which you can get cheaply on amazon.com Final Fantasy 6 is the best Final Fantasy and you can get it for cheap for the ps1 as well. All of these games play fine on the ps3. Final Fantasy 7 is a great game and if you do decided to get it plays just fine on the ps3, but is not rally worth that high price point.

just to tack on to rapsuper star a bit.... Do not get 8 if you are not already a fan, some of the gameplay is mindnumbing, and by that I mean the draw system is terrible.
Draw means you draw magic out of enemies which enables you to use a certain number of charges that do not carry over character to character.
It's like a blue mage divided by 100.
However, the story is pretty great.

Also, with Wii graphics getting more and more popular, I don't think you will notice a real difference i the quality of ff7's visuals.

Um, imho the gameplay nowadays feels really slow, but it's undoubtly a great game. I'll recommend you Lost Odyssey, game made by the same creator, Sakaguchi...

About getting FFVII, don't forget that there is a PC version (using 4 CDs). Hopefully you won't have problems to find it

ignore theproof00 the junction(draw system lol) system combined with triple triad are the deepest system on the ff franchise, the materia system is simple and not bad, but it doesn't allow as much explotation as the junction system does

yes Tiple triad is an awesome game, but junction isn't the draw system you doofus、 the draw system was just a very annoying part of the junction system!!
and it's the prof not the proof.
another cool thing is that depending on your party's attack, the enemies will use different moves! that was way cool.
