What are your five personal favorite FPS weapons of all time. Not looking for the weapon you used the most obviously some weapons will always be better then others, but some weapons over the years stick in your mind. What weapons do you have the fondest memories of. You can choose any game for any platform. You can pick for innovation, whimsy, irritation, and any other feature that catches your fancy. Then share why you chose those weapons as your five all time favorites. Please just don't do a list think long and hard and explain your choices. This is for entertainment so the better the reasons the more fun.

it would have to be goldeneye on the n64, one of my most fondest multiplayer fps in memory. favorite weapon was proximity mine coupled wit a rcket launcher, was always fun to take control of the top floor of the facility level and lay a row of proximity mines and set them off with a rocket launcher when an enemy came close...*sigh* such good says.

oh and perfect dark i loved the fly by missile rocket launcher (i think thats what its called), where u got to control where the rocket went, used to pick a quiet spot and do my damage from there

(The remote-controlled rocket launcher) - Perfect Dark - Because it's a remote-controlled rocket launcher. There's nothing quite like chasing someone down, watching the figure in the camera get closer, and closer, until . . . static.  [edit: beaten to the punch by youjiro, and he almost remembered that that function was called "fly-by-wire"]

The Chicago Typewriter - Resident Evil 4 & others - Because it's a tommy gun. RE4 has one of the most realistic representations AFAIK, and you can unlock a costume of Leon in a gangster outfit. Also, points for the name.

That gun was a lot of fun. Watching your friends head for cover as it seeks in on them.

Come on let's not forget Duke 3D...

The Freeze thrower!

Freeze your enemy and kick them into a thousand little shards! Back in 96!
And 2kGames thought bioshock was original...

Shrink ray!

Shrink your enemies into pint sized little guys, and step on them. SQUASH! Just make sure you don't shoot at yourself in a mirror! You might make yourself shrink!

Microwave Expander

Watch your enemies get huge and explode!


God, every weapon was awesome, laser trip mines, the devostator, pipe bombs, the RPG.

That was such a good game@!

My favorite FPS weapons will have to be the ones from AvP2. I'm a huge Aliens & Predator fan.

The top five off of that game that i liked to use were
