Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Mario Kart finally dieing in America?

Ha ha. I always love it when a thread is made with lots of speculation and Brett answers it with only a couple words

@irstupid... many first party Nintendo titles drop in price... what about Excite truck, Battalion Wars.. and erm.. probably some others.

However Mario Kart, Galaxy, Smash, Zelda etc will likely stay full price for at least 2 more years, and with Smash and Kart probably into the next gen.

@montana... I know, my thread is ruined

I was pretty sure it was supply anyway... it just went down way too fast, but I thought the unusualness of it taking 5 weeks to go this low was worth the speculation.... I suspect rather than what happened last year with Wii, where NIntendo seemed to ship every 2 weeks so it went up and down in huge spikes, this time they just dwindled and then stopped supply for some reason, perhaps sending more to PAL regions or something.

I believe both battallion wars and excite truck are actually second party. You know nintendo owns  th e ip but doesn't make the game because they doing something more important so they outsource to someone else.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

I know I've gone into Best Buy twice in the last couple of weeks (just to browse the store), and I've overheard both times customers asking employees where the Mario Kart games are and both times they were told they were sold out....

Bah!

NOOO!!! Mario Kart is not loved anymore!!!!

The only time when it drop is either ifs not selling well, a sequel is coming out. All games from Nintendo that are popular franchises will never drop.

Yea like Brett says. For the longest time, last 2 weeks, we barely had any copies. Just got a few this week and I think we still have them. But yea probably supply constrained.

I remember I was waiting for Super Smash Brother Melee to become a budget title for NGC... I'm still waiting :(

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I was waiting for a dropped price on Pikmin 2 as I had been told it was superior tp Pikmin 1, but it was still going for £25 second hand 1 year ago.

i think the first pikmin (don't know about the second) is selling for 30 bucks USED right now, and it was also 30 bucks new, so it's kinda weird. maybe a lot of wii owner are trying to snag a copy after being stupid enough to not get it the first time? should i try selling my copy?

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568
