All JRPG's like Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean 4, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, The Last Remnant, ect.  have ended up either mediocre or good, but none of them have really been amazing.  Is this gen disappointing in JRPG's?

Last gen only had 3 AAA jRPGs. It's not unusual that most jRPGs get 70-85 scores.

But to answer your question: yes, there most likely wont be any AAA console jRPGs other than XIII this gen.

quite possibly ye. the name alone will bring it to so called AAA.

a good example would be if lost oddessey was released as "final fantasy 13 : the lost oddessey"

i can swear it would have aggregated into the 90`s

why so many people saying JRPG is all mediocre this gen of market or some people say JRPG is doing worse, dying genre, etc...last gen was just as mediocre if you put it that way...there were only a handful of AAA titles for JRPG...probably could count them with one hand...

oh i just did...didn't even need all 5 fingers


none of the DQ or KH series is AAA....so if you talk about amazing JRPG...it's a misconception...only amazing games that are going to be if you go by rating are probably going to be FF series...and maybe one random JRPG...so in that sense...even last gen has been mediocre if not worse than this gen...the difference between last gen and this gen is the quantities of different games that have been coming out...
