SPD 2 - Responsible for developing puzzle games

SPD 3 - Responsible for over seeing and collaborating in overseas and second party team games

SPD 4 - Responsible primarily for the development of Wii channels and perhaps interface for new consoles

I have no idea what that chart means.

its the yearly releases of each dev team that is a part of Nintendo from 2003 to 2008 and I've included a guess at what 2009 may look like

Interesting stuff; bookmarked.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Around the Network

Hopefully they are working on some core games like a new donkey kong or kid icarus. I would also like to see a zelda wind waker sequal.

I think there is a better than 50% chance that EAD 4 is working on a new Mario, Yoshi or perhaps even Donkey Kong platformer.

Also I think that Factor 5 will have Kid Icarus, Star Fox or PilotWings ready to release this year. Perhaps they have more than one of these titles in development.

We're sure to find out soon

Shameless bump: I've added some general information about the Software and Planning Groups, the former R&D1 and R&D2 teams into the second post.

For those who haven't worked out yet, Nintendo likes to hold games back and space them out over time. Especially now that Wii has a shit load of momentum with few releases and of course third parties are finally stepping up to the plate.

Another reason is that Nintendo may be starting to think about launch titles for their next handheld and they will divert resources to those projects a year or so before launch.. To accomadate for the removal of resources from Wii and DS (moreso DS but Wii will be hit too) they hold games back and release them in a lull so it seems like there is a constant stream of games.

For those reasons I think the following will happen:

1. Zelda will be released this year - just not on Wii

2. Retro Studios next title won't be released this year - they're working on 2 games so expect one in 2010 and the other in 2011, after which, their focus will turn to the launch of the next Nintendo console

3. I'm not sure whether Nintendo will relese a WarioWare AND Mario Party in the same year and may not bother with WarioWare on Wii any more since Mario Party 8 had many more sales than Smooth Moves did.

4. NST were making Project H.A.M.M.E.R last and the last games they released were Metroid Prime Hunters and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: MotM back in 2006. They are due for a release this year. Will we see one? Maybe.

5. A new platformer by EAD 4 will be released this year for DS - Most likely New Super Mario Bros. 2

6. 2010 will be the biggest year for first part releases on Wii as Mario, Zelda and many other strong efforts are released throughout the year.

7. The DS2 will take some wind out of the Wii's sales in it's first year but it'll be well covered up by third party efforts which have become massive - games like GTA will call Wii its home

Finally a little theory I have: Wii MotionPlus integration into games was not the reason for the delay but the effect of it.

EAD 1 (Hideki Konno):  Probably won't see anything from this group this year as MK Wii was last year.  Konno will probably produce MK for DS' and Wii's successor, but its probably too early for those.  I could see him working on some type of sequel for Luigi's Mansion.  Not a direct sequel, like LM 2, but maybe some type of platform/adventure game with Luigi using gadgets from that Professor guy.  Kind of like a mix of Bond (nifty gadgets using Wii Remote) and Tomb Raider (paltform/adventure)

EAD 2 (Katsuya Eguchi):  We know he is working on Wii Sports Resort.  But now that AC is done, that team can work on something else.  My guess would be Starfox.  He did direct the SNES original and produced SF Command on DS.

EAD 3 (Eiji Aonuma):  Zelda

EAD 4 (Hiroyuki Kimura):  Pikmin 3.  His group made the Wii remakes and Shigifumi Hino (Pikmin 1 and 2's director) works in this group.  I could also see his group working on New Super Mario Bros 2 for DS.

EAD 5 (Tadashi Sugiyama):  A new game in the Wii _____ series for 2010 (probably unveiled at this E3).  If Monster Games is working on F Zero, I expect Sugiyama to be invovled as he directed the N64 version of the franchise.

EAD Tokyo (Takao Shimizu):  Probably a new Mario game, but he could be working on a Donkey Kong title as well given Shimizu's history with the franchise (DK '94 and DK: Jungle Beat [including the Wiimake])

SPD 1 (Yoshio Sakamoto):  Hopefully working with Intelligent Systems to reform Team Shikamaru to make a 2D Metroid for DS

SPD 2 (Hitoshi Yamagami):  This group is porbably working with Treasure on S&P 2 given Yamagami worked with Treasure on the first S&P.

SPD 3 (Kensuke Tenabe):  Most likely working with Next Level Games on Punch-Out, Akira on Endless Ocean 2, Sandlot on Dynamic Slash, Gaia on Cosmic Walker, Artoon on Spawn Smasher, and/or Grezzo on Lina Attack Heroes.

Intelligent Systems:  Fire Emblem Wii

Retro:  Original game (hopefully not the rumored Zelda spin-off)

NST:  1080 Snowboarding- Masamichi Abe worked on previous versions of the series and is currently at NST.

Monolithsoft:  Soma Bringer 2 (DS), and Wii RPG

Hal:  Kirby Wii

Brownie Brown:  Wii action/rpg

GameFreak:  DS Platformer (something original while they brain storm next DS' Pokemon)

Genius Sonority:  Their website teases something oringal

out of all those, i want Golden Sun the most =X
if the chart stays true, then it looks like we still might have some great unannounced games on our hands
