Forums - Sales Discussion - Upcoming Wii games first week sales

This are my predictions for the first week sales in America of the following upcoming Wii games:

Rygar (released this week) - 6k

Tenchu (released this week) - 41k

Deadly Creatures (released next week) - 36k

House of the Dead (released next week) - 43k

Dead Rising (released in 3 weeks) - 47k

MadWorld (released in 5 weeks) - 54k

Little King's Story (released in 13 weeks) - 34k

Most of these games are interesting to wacth. What are your predictions?

Around the Network

Rygar - 4k

Tenchu - 50k

Deadly Creatures - 40k

House of the Dead - 60k

Dead Rising - 50k

Madworld - 70k

Little King's Story - 40k

Luckily I'm predicting that most of these games will have great legs.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

I think madworld *MAY* break 100k first week, though if it does i'll still be suprised. Its about as niche as okami and it would've managed to nearly equal it first week.

 Twilightman on Gametrailers

Rygar - 12k

Tenchu - 28k

Deadly Creatures - 25k

House of the Dead - 80k

Dead Rising - 19k

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I can see Madworld doing higher than that for America alone, but the first weeks in Europe and Japan will be tiny.

These first week guesses are wronger than wrong. Tenchu only included 3 days of a full week right?

Depends on if you count 3 days as a full week.  Since Wii owners don't normally buy games 1st day (especially little known ones) Chizum's guesses could prove fairly close.

Rygar - 5,491 - should hit 6k easy in a full week

Tenchu 19,031 - could do another 10-20k over the next 4 days so he's high on that one but not necessarily way off.

i guessed Tenchu 28k. Maybe i hit that bitch on the nose.

Rygar, i dk, i named my cat rygar

I don't care to predict for the smaller titles but here's some

Dead Rising - 50,000

Madworld - 80,000 (The main userbase are children I think, so it won't sell amazingly)

Conduit - 150,000 (again, its mainly a children's console)

Owner of: PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, DC, and Xbox.

Most Wanted: Gran Turismo 5, Conduit, Assassin's Creed 2
