Actually 92 is about the level it needs to fall before people unwrap their crow sandwiches. That would put the game under Gears of War 1/2. Im serious about this too, such is the hype of this game that people will feel justified jumping on it for a score below Gears of War, especially as it has been hyped as the 2nd coming by some people.

Seriously? Those people give 360 fanboys a bad name... ;)

  • Epic delivered twice in less time two better games.
  • Not a Halo killer
  • 4 years+ in development for...
  • With high graphics scores the gameplay must be lacking compared to...
  • All that hype? I expected a better score..

Thats some of the killing points which may be made... etc.

Its like that Red Dwarf episode "Future Echoes" from season 1.

Craptastic arguments ("killing points?", lol) countered:

  • Less time because they made the engine first, while Guerilla made the engine for the game and now have that to use in other games (so do other PS3 devs)
  • STFW?  Different style, looks better, probably better multiplayer.
  • For an awesome game.  Read the reviews, watch the vids.
  • Read the reviews.  Gameplay usually complimented.  Plus, there are elements people could quibble with in reviews other than gameplay.
  • Hype is a reason for some asshairs to give a low score.  (still only 2 scores under 90, btw, according to another post in this thread.)

Squilliam, I urge you not to go down this road...

Told ya ^^

Reviews were under embargo until february 2nd. Those that got published ahead were biased in favour of Killzone. It's usually like that so its' nothing to hold against anyone.

First reviews are always surprisingly good, it's only 3/4 across that you get a true stable metascore.

I expect it'll fall somewhere between 89 and 91 on Gamerankings (Gamerankings > Metacritics, even if they belong to the same network, Gamperankings selects reviewers)

God i hate fanboys, almost as much as they hate facts

“If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea” Antoine de St-Exupery

+2Q  -2N  (to be read in french)

some day you will learn not to trust reviews....look at too human they hate that game in reviews but its one of teh best games i have ever played and is a blast to play so ehh

the only person you should care about and how they feel about a game is ....you....and your own opinion

killzone 2 should stay above 90% but really, werent people wanting 95 or 96? 92 doesnt seem to spectacular, but dont get me wrong, its still a great score

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

I'm going to say it won't fall below 90, it'll end up sitting between 90-92.

So would those of you who have played it agree that it's about a 90-92 game?  Just a bit under Gears of War 2?

The next 26 reviews would have to score Killzone 2 a 85 or below for it to drop below 90

Not on gamerankings.  They'd only have to average 88.  Which means, for example, for every 5 that were 90 one could be 80 and that would average 88.
