Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Can Wii gamers be excited for 2009?

Conduit, Fatal Frame IV, Punch-Out and Sin & Punishment are all on my list. Cant wait for these games.

He has a point about survival horrors on the Wii. Silent Hill Homecoming and Alone in the Dark (HD consoles exclusive I presume, considering Obscure 2 was more important to mention) sold great and got excellent scores. Dead Space did more than meet EA sales expectations. The combined sales of SH Homecoming (190k + 150K) are almost 4X the combined sales of Resident Evil 0 and remake for the Wii. Konami made a lot more revenue than Capcom.

RE Umbrella Chronicles is no survival horror, it lacks online co-op (which makes RE 5 a survival horror game).

Um...what?  Only online games are being considered for certain genres now?  And that means RE1-4 aren't Survival Horror games because RE5 has online co-op?

Six upcoming games you should look into:

wow, that was a terrible article. seriously just bashing wii on every game. and whats with the hoping that no games use motion controls? thats the best part of the wii, its the whole point. and acting the only genre that actually has a fanbase on the wii is casual games. horror games have sold very well on the wii and the article says there's not fanbase for it. ridiculous. this article would've been better if the games were just listed with a screenshot.

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus

My God you guys are sensitive.

I'm anticpating Muramasa and MadWorld out of those.
I'm a bit worried about Punch Out, though. You'd think Nintendo would assign one of their better teams to revive such a classic franchise.

The only game that will "make or break" Nintendo's year is Wii Sports Resort.

These games will make or break the year in the eyes of hardcore gamers, but the system's continued success hinges on Wii Sports Resort, and maaaybe Punch-Out.

That said, I get that the article is trying to serve the hardcore, so fair enough.  I think most of these games will be good.  I'm worried about Mad World "wearing thin" too...in the videos I saw I felt the commentary seemed very obnoxious and repetitive.  Graphics are decent, though.

out of those i can't wait for madworld, muramasa, the conduit, maybe punchout, and maybe sin and punishment

"The game:
The Conduit

What is it?
Highly anticipated FPS with claims of delivering a 360/PS3-quality experience."

I really hope this quote is a joke.

Classic control Sin and Punishment?

That would put me (and I would presume 90% plus of people interested at the moment) right off the game..... I downloaded the original from the VC and was dissapointed, but I could tell I would have liked the game more if: 1. I could see what was going on (I am fine with N64 graphics for most games, but I think I would have been better buying S&P back before the GC came out) and 2. I can shoot properly.

Agreed.

To say that only games available on the PS3/360 have a quality that is unattainable or hasn't yet been attained on Wii is quite silly to say in the least.

I'm glad that I'm not alone on this one.
