Im looking for a format to put my songs on my mp3 player.its 16gb and my player only supports mp1,mp2,mp3,wma for what i know now but i think it supports more,so do you think wma is better or mp3 for my player.i want to put a lot of songs in it and a few media in it,but nuttin much.i dont mind if u mention other formats.
wma files are slightly smaller and are usually the same quality as mp3s, however if you convert files to wma the quality will decrease.
Well MP3 is more universal for ease of use i'd go with that . I'm not sure about the technical side of things though.
mp3... cause one day you will have another devices that won't support wma so you don't want to encode them again..

You'd have to be a bit retarded to even consider the use of WMA. It's basically the same as AAC but won't play on many devices like AAC has canoodled its way into.
In short, use MP3 for everything. Anyone who has even one WMA file in their library deserves a smack in the head.

Use MP3. It's still patent-encumbered, but less so than WMA or AAC. The quality difference between them is negligible.
Of course, I'd rather everyone used OGG Vorbis. It's smaller, better quality and requires no licensing. I can't play any MP3, WMA or OGG files on my (Linux) PC without breaking the law.
Use MP3, real men use MP3. WMA is crap.

Fuck WMA. It has barely any options in terms of changing your bit rate. Its a joke of a format.
Hell, even AAC is a much better format than WMA, and I hate having AAC files.
