So I was just at my local EBgames buying a classic controller (no way am I going to play Super Metroid with the crappy SNES gamecube contoller scheme), and I'm makin chit chat with the girl at the register.  I says to her I says "So you guys expecting to get Metroid Prime 3 on the 27 or 28?" And she's all like "actually we're getting it tuesday, do you have it reserved?" and I was all like "uh, yeah. Are you sure you're putting it on sale THIS tuesday?" and she said "Yeah, we're getting it the same day as Bioshock, so be sure to be here tuesday we have alot of pre-orders".

FTW! I don't know what's up with that, I haven't heard any announcements but the girl was sure it was coming out THIS tuesday along with their order for Bioshock. DAMN.

Um...I'll take taht with a huge, huge salt shaker. Consistently when I go into EB or Gamestop I talk to tehm about what's going on in the world of videogames. And consitently they don't know a damn thing. For instance, yesterday I asked one of the employess (who knows the 360) about the Epic vs. Silicon Knights scuffle. He hadn't a clue about it. Didn't even know what I was talking about. I'm not saying that this is definitely false....but I am saying, don't trust someone from EB.

there is a difference between knowing about company disputes, sales numbers, ect ect and knowing when they are getting a shipment of a big game. That's not a videogame news related thing, that's something they as an employee have to know.

Well, after all, the first release date it was given was August 20... Maybe Nintendo delayed it one week in case they weren't able to ship as many as they wanted for the 20th.

Vagabond...all I'm saying is take it with a grain of salt. Your thread title and rebuttal to my initial suggestion says that you are in 100 percent belief of what this girl said. I believe that she said it. I believe she believes it. But I'm not so sure you should be so quick to believe it. While this would be the best news I've heard since I watched the Aurora demo, I'd like not to have my hopes dashed on Tuesday when I walk into the store and they tell...."um....that's not til next week.."

Sweet, I called a couple other gamestops and they said that they will be releasing the game on the 27, but if you have a pre-order they'll sell it to you when they get it. I don't care if it's legal or not, I'm getting my damn game early!

I have heard of games launching on time and launching late but EARLY thats a first.

I called another gamestop and they said that they aren't selling it til the 27, so I guess it's a store to store thing. You might want to call yours to find out.
