i only need to look at the people who use to know why it shouldnt be legal.

And all I need to do is look at the people who use to know why it should be legal. Almost all the pot smokers I know are successful business people who prefer weed over drinking. Personally, I hate the stuff but that's just my personal taste.

People who abuse substances will always find a substance to abuse. Blame the person, society, or whatever. But don't blame the drug. If those same "losers" weren't smoking pot, they'd be drinking themselves silly.

you've never seen one of those "legalize pot" rallies ?

so youre making a snap judgement based on the apperance of a few people?

thats right.  ive never met anyone who has done drugs and have never done any drugs in my life.  i live in canada, mate.

And gay marriage should never be legalized because every gay man on earth will immediately start wearing assless chaps.

You'll have to do better than pointing out a rally - which are ALWAYS full of radicals, no matter the political point - to convince me of anything.

That only happens in my dreams...

oh my apologies, i didnt realise you were being sarcastic

I think all drugs should be legal. Besides. Many of the most abused drugs are pharmaceutical grade (which just means that the prices are crazy and they will kill you faster than smoking opium) but they are legal. If we legalized all drugs, we could legitamize the people who use them instead of treating the ones who get caught as deviants who need to be locked away and then maybe figure out...1. what causes adiction/what in society would drive people to be an addict or what psychological needs make an addict (personally I follow sociology more than psychology but that is just me). 2. Revenue 3. Get rid of the pharmaceutical monopoly. 4. Decriminilization of all drugs would save so much money in the long run.
I think the problem that comes from this though, is that eventually it would make the united states and high drug consuming countries to take a hard look at themselves and wonder what drives people to addiction.

Personally. For me all of my addictions have been for escapist purposes. To make life a dream if you will. Between drinking, Vicodin and Marijuana- the gravity of a "civilized culture" seems to be lessened, or that is what I told myself.

Beware those who escape society less than those who accept it.

Very True. It seems that those who want to have some sort of escape are obviously on some level analyzing it, or at least aware of it at some level.

Well, that's one way of looking at it. Another method is to realize that those who escape society largely marginalize themselves without any ideas coming to fruition.

Either way, establishment wins.
