Forums - General Discussion - An Apartment Filled With Beer Cans

First - Yes I know this was from a while ago (late '06), but I just found it and I'm sure others haven't seen it either, so don't bother posting "old" or anything equivalent.  I'll consider it an off-topic post and act accordingly.

Got beer???? A landlord's nightmare

A SINGLE GUY LIVED IN THIS TOWNHOUSE FOR 8 YEARS IN OGDEN UTAH

THE LANDLORD THOUGHT HE WAS THE BEST RENTER BECAUSE HE NEVER CALLED OR COMPLAINED AND WAS NEVER LATE ON A PAYMENT.

THESE PICTURES DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO WHAT IT REALLY LOOKED LIKE.

" CENTURY 21REALTY HAD ALREADY MOVED SOME OF THE CANS OUT, AND THEY HAD CAVED IN THE TUNNELS THAT THE RENTER HAD MADE TO GET TO THE BEDROOM, BATHROOM, AND KITCHEN .

All this, yet you still do not see any dust, scattered clothing, or dirty dishes anywhere .

Other than having a minor drinking problem, he was basically a very clean, organized person. Add to this, the fact that he was concerned about his health, proven by the fact that he drank "Light" beer.

The coolest part of all of this is that the dude was tunneling through the beer cans....seriously..at what point do you say "Man I should turn these in for cash and buy more beer!"??

PS - The website hoax-slayer.com lists the pictures as legit.  For what it's worth.

Wow, how much money is that

erm...Sqrl.

I feel compelled to make you punish me....and if I had never seen it I might be compelled to say those magic words. But as this is news to me I'll just say:

fake.

I thought so to, but everything I find on it points to true.

Link - Local Utah News Station confirms it.

And of course the obligatory snopes link - Which also says true.

PS - Why would I punish you?

The snopes article says around $800.  Roughly 70,000 cans.

If I said...."That's so 2007"  or "teh oldz" or something along those lines.

But if this is true...that guy is a douche.  And I could seem maybe him swimming through it....but didn't his friends offer to do an intervention?  Or at least swipe a few bags of cans on their way to get more beer?

Holy crap, that's a lot of cans. The most I've got back is........$3. And that's with getting my hands all sticky.

thats only about 24 cans a day. whats the big deal?

@super,

But you didn't say that =)  I don't care if someone wants to disbelieve it, I just hate the "zomg I've seen this and thus I must ridicule everyone who hasn't" shtick people like to pull.

@topic,

OK, by my calculations, at 14 grams per empty can (which from what I can ascertain is the weight of an empty pop or beer can), this guy literally had a ton of beer cans (if it is true, as it appears it could be).

The estimated 70,000 beer cans at 14 grams per comes out to:

~2314.85 lbs of Empty Beer Cans

I wonder what his liver looks like.
