Was that really necessary?

No, it was as necessary as what Sony just did, really. But if we apply the same standards theres nothing lame or unnencessary about it is there?

I mean come on now, why condone their actions when they do something stupid?

It's a minor PR blurb that has some biased but legitimate points.  Calm down.

I own a PS3 but this kind of Sony publicity is just bad.

http://www.edge-online.com/news/sony-competitors-continue-peddling-add-ons

Good grief this's just like a bad old videogame commercial

Lets go over the numbers again shall we?

PS3: $399, Wi-Fi that no one uses with half a brain: free, Hard drive (thats filled with 10 games): free, New HD (so you dont have to install the other games over and over): $100, Online: free, Blue-ray: free, Blue-ray movies: $10-$20 more than DVDs, HDMI port: free, HDMI or any HD cords: $20-$75, Headset: $20-$45 (wired or wireless).

TOTAL COST: $645      Justifacation(IE: explaination) You are gonna want the HDMI cable because god know you already spent tons on the HD system whats the point if its in 480p. You need a head set so you can yell at all the noobs to die and get out of your way, and wired SUCKS. (to bad you cant connect it to your controller like 360) You need 3 bluerays just to make sure it was worth spending the extra $200 on the system that can play em. In a year with ALL the great games out your HD is gonna be filled and you have no place to save your games your gonna need that bigger HD.

Xbox 360: $299 (no one wants that crappy arcade unit except your parents), Wi-Fi: N/A (who needs it when the system comes with a free cable!), HD: free(no need to upgrade), Online: $50 for 13months, DVD player: Free (WOOT... HD upgrade DVD player), HDMI port: Free, HDMI cable: $50 Composite cable: Free, Headset: free.

TOTAL COST: $499     Justifacation: System comes all ready to be setup and get online. Most people with HDMI ports in thier tvs will buy the $50 cable. I didn't, I went to a discount store and got it for $12!! But for the sake of being fair most will pay more thinking they get a better picture. You need a gold card so you can frag noobs, and watch Netflix for 1 month free!, Thank god demos, movie, tv shows, updates, and everything else can be done FREE  no gold required. You already own about 12 dozen DVD's so need to buy more, but you can watch them all upscaled on your new Xbox. O and you can always go get a Blue-ray movie player for cheap... if you want with all that money saved. NOT!!! MORE GAMES!!!!

Wii: $249 Wi-Fi: free, HD: Free (but very small for all those arcade and old clasic game), Memory card(to play even more games): 2GB $14, Online: Free (not limited at all tons to download + free browser!!), DVD player: N/A (unless hacked O.o), HD cord: $20 (if you want it....),  Headset: N/A (minus Wii Speak thing LOL).

TOTAL COST: $264     Justification: System is just cheap as can be. Problem is you get what you pay for. No DVD player, and not many online games yet. No HD service at all, but hey most people are playing it to have fun, maybe even get a little movement. The memory card is opntional but alot of people like to take photos and mess with them on the photo channel or do a slide show. Great to have a free browser when the PC is tied up by someone else also.

So there ya go the REAL numbers that Sony will never publish let alone admit.

"Leap ignorantly to the defense of wealthy game company’s, who don't know or care about you!"

This is just Sad, wow Sony......just.....wow.... :(

No matter how people take it, it's truth.

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

It's like I just tripped and fell into 2006!

If it was 2006, there would have been a "backwards compatable" entry.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Woah, why is the most expensive console selling in a CRISIS?

This doesn't make sense to me =)))

Well I guess it depends what you buy the console for. For myself, the PS3 is a compelling purchase for the games, blu-ray, free online etc. But there's no denying that the Xbox 360 Arcade is cheap, and if you just want to play games, and those on the 360 appeal to you, then that's a sensible purchase. Depends on what you're after.

Sony has no choice to show this graph, they have nothing left in their arsenal to counter the other consoles' 2008 success.

The only thing I don't like about this is that they are basically using what Sony fanboys have been using and doing an exact chart of what would a perfect Sony fanboy (which is biased) say. In my opinion, this chart misses the backward compatible category, which the 360 has and PS3 doesn't, so it's an extra 129$ for a PS2. They also should have included the pro in the comparison to be fair, and add extra lines such as headset, component cables, etc. But of course, Sony won't chart it to the advantage of the competitor, so in the end, Sony's humiliating itself.

Squilliam one of the biggest 360 fanboy unleashing his power.
