I highly recommennd getting an arcade...

Yep, I guess it's been decided that when I get the money I'll get an arcade and then a relatively small 20 or 60gb hard drive from ebay or sorts. Thanks guys!

BTW, what are some MUST HAVE games for the 360? I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but I've already got my eyes on both gears and Tales of Vesperia. I already own Fallout 3 on pc and guitar hero on wii, so is there anything else I'm missing?

Yeah, I finally have a sig.

go with the arcade then.

I guess it really depends on what kind of gamer you are, and what genres your looking into. The X360 has exclusives in virtually every genre.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I think Arcade is well worth it, it enables you to play every game on the X360 with it's amazing library, it maybe does not allow you to stream movies or get DLC but if it's a primary gaming machine then go with it, especially if you more single player oriented.

Definitely worth it. Slap on a cheap HD and you are definitely set to play most games requiring a HD to save game files.

Above I'm a proud Gran Turismo fan, not a Sony fanboy, and now a proud 360 owner, but sharing xbox live accts ATM

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

Get an arcade. I have, and its never given me any problems

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

If you don't care about downloading, the only big problem with the Arcade is the lack of backwards compatibility with Xbox games. However if you desire it later, adding a hard drive to it will get you backwards compatibility, so you still have an option.

Bottom line - if you don't want to download stuff or to play Xbox games, buy the Arcade and a cheap HDMI cable (cheap works the same as expensive for HDMI).

So I was actually contemplating getting a 2nd console to supplement my Wii now that I have an HDTV. I've further decided that I will go with a 360 since I did not appreciate Sony removing backwards compatibility, a giant plus in my books. It's too bad since I was considering bluray, but I also can't support Sony's format because of their arrogance this time around.

So I was wondering, is it worth getting an xbxo 360 Arcade?

It is cheaper, but how useful is the harddrive anyways? Does anyone who owns it have any major gripes about it?

do not get a acrade 360. no hardrive means you bascially can't do anything with it. can't download trailers, demos, movies because of lack of memory.

just get a preminum, 60GB and your set. if you buy a hardrive seperately you end up spending more money

Yes, it's worth it. You can always upgrade later:

Given the link above, I think it's foolish to buy the pro unless you are sure you need a HDD. The arcade is an incredible value and it's what I recommend to all my friends.
