How the hell is PS3 STILL outselling 360 in Japan?

Maybe the key is on our sigs?

Is the PS3 going to be stuck around the 30,000 mark forever?

Next week  PS3 numbers will grow because of Gundam Musou 2.

Really? What are you expecting? 40,000?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

If they are so lucky.  Once again, hardly any new release for the Japanese audience to get excited about.  I really don't get Sony this generation.

I'm just saying...

Bah there is WKC and gundam 2 next week. Early next year, you got yakuza 3 and FFXIII demo. PS3 should do fine till the end of march.

Wow, the sales are down hard this year in Japan. What's going on? Is Wii reaching market saturation (I could almost believe the DS is)? When was the last pricecut for the PS3, and what's the outlook for the upcoming exclusives? Xbox 360 is up, but I would've expected more considering this is around the number it's been hovering at for a few months (no holiday boost for MS?)

What's going on in Japan?

The world is at its greatest moments right now.

Are you referring to the recession? System sales appear to be largely unaffected (and considerably higher) almost everywhere else in the world, why is Japan different? I know that the unpopular HD consoles will probably die alot sooner in Japan than elsewhere, but whats with the drop in Wii and PSP sales, and to a lesser extent DS sales? Is Japan simply losing interest in gaming, or is it a price issue, or a software issue? Is it a different mindset that Japan has compared to the western world on how to deal with an economic recession?

This time last year it was selling average of 50k (in fact over 60k for the same week last year). Think we thought it would stay that high forever back then!

On an interesting point it is quite funny reading peoples views on Japan. A few months back when 360 was in front people were saying "Japan is dead sales wise now", but because the PS3 is back ahead of it selling 100% less then this time last year it is now "Japan is turning to the PS3". You have to laugh :)

So? PSP and Wii are down a lot more but you only notice PS3 numbers. Heck, even DS is down with new model.

Oh dont get me wrong the Wii is down loads. It sold like 170k this week last year so that is a fall of 80k year over year! That is pretty bad. BUT the Wii still outsold the PS3 and 360 combined by over 2 to 1. I dont really think we can start saying the Wii is going tits up when it has those sort of figures behind it, we would be very picky wouldnt we.

Sales for pretty much everything are down in Japan apart from the 360, but even those numbers i dont think are worth bragging about. The UK really has now killed off Japan as a gaming sales monster in my opinion. Who would of thought that?

Never knew.

Its amazing that the DS numbers are so high.. even with the DSi release I thought everybody in Japan already had one.

First one sold about 300k in Japan so this could give decent boost, but you never know what happens in Japan. =)
