Okami

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.

This game kinda reminds me of Halo 2.

I thought it had more of a perfect dark feel to it, the weapons and movement just remind me of that game for some reason.

Plus i still don't really get the whole "wii" thing.  Do you guys really find it fun when you need to point at the screen or throw the nunchuck around to do certain things.  I can see some hyper little kids having fun with it, but i just don't see it.

Yep.  Actually aiming and tossing adds a lot to the immersion not to mention it's a far, far more precise control scheme than dual analog.  I grew up with Doom and Wolfenstein using a mouse.  Dual Analog seems like such a regression as far as controls go.

You speak of immersion, and maybe I'm alone on this but I just can't get immersed in a ps2 game the way I used to. Technology has updated and HD consoles bring a realness factor that the wii just can't with graphics. You speak of control regression. Well, the wii is graphics regression. Doesn't mean it's not fun, just thought I'd throw that out their as a counter to your excuse that exists and is perfectly true. Now then, if the wii had HD graphics and the third party games to support it, it would by far be the greatest gaming machine this gen and I think no one could argue that.

Fair enough.  Personally graphics don't matter to me.  I still play UT2004, heck I still play UTGoTY against friends who can't run UT2004.  Hell, I still play Pac-man.  As long as the game's fun I don't care how realistic it looks.

zomg, I have never heard about the grenade thing... wow that is really cool.... grenades rool.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

'The conduit IS a new step in Wii gameplay' - Yes. A step backwards.

The Conduit really looks more like a quake game than a Half-life descendant. In my opinion, so far it looks horrible.

I really like that they have made a nice engine for the wii, but I would like to see a good game to go with it!

This!

I have never understood why graphics should be considered the most important thing in gaming. The gameplay are far and away the number 1 thing to consider with games. A fun game is just that regardless of graphics. In fact sometimes I feel that the focus on great graphics take away from other more important factors. I still love many games form Nes, Snes to death despite how they have aged graphically.

I may actually play it, if it fully uses the Wii Mote how their saying it's going to be used.

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.
