Forums - Website Topics - Enough with the paper thin skin. (A Rant)

^explain - if he was getting his 2 cents worth in every time then yes I agree - but from what I see all he's doing is finding new articles that pertain information relevant to a gaming website and posting them, albeit from a select subject matter. If the articles didn't exist then he couldn't do it, he's in no way holding a gun to the media publications heads and telling them to write about the hard times Sony is facing...and all anyone is doing is saying that HE is the troll.

Absolutely he had the ban coming, but it wasn't the article that got him banned. No the banning was, because he was stupid enough to taunt. Had he just posted the article, and stayed within the topic he would not have been banned.

That said he wasn't the only poster in that thread in dire need of a banning. He behaved badly, but other posters behaved just as badly. This is what I am talking about folks. This shit will get real dark real fast. They trolled him, and he began to troll back. Before all is said and done it will just be a ball of trolling.

Well, he openly admitted that he was posting all these articles with the sole intention of getting a reaction out of Sony fans...

Sorry i just can't read that wall of text, can someone post a summary of his post.

^ I can count the number of threads on one hand that aren't about getting a reaction from X fans...

I wouldn't agree that having an agenda is an issue. There is nothing patently wrong or dishonest with having an agenda. Now if that agenda leads to using erroneous logic, or the manipulation of data in a fraudulent manner. Well then yes that poster is a bad poster, and yeah you sure as hell should call them on the fact that their bias is tainting their results. However once again having an agenda is not behaving in an improper manner. There is no requirement that they check an agenda at the door. That does not give you a license to troll that poster or their threads. I can say I hate some racial group. Does that mean it is alright to burn my house down?

I also would say I am probably one of the more problem solving posters on these forums. I have recounted in threads countless times ideas that would help Sony not only be more solvent but more successful. Unfortunately this is an opportunity that many Sony supporters have yet to embrace. Sony has options, and Sony has some very good options, but when posters share them its almost as if the crickets chirp.

I was front and center the first year saying Sony should make it a priority to integrate their PC massive titles into their console. Those titles provided free of charge would have been a major boom for the console, and for accessory sales. The console was starving for content, and here was Sony with thousands of hours of content sitting unused. This could have given them that virtual online community that they wanted. Home should have been shelved in favor of integration of these games. They got less for waiting longer.

Hell its still a good concept, and unfortunately it is looking as if Sony is going to piddle away an area where they had a supreme advantage to Microsoft. Sony promised the delivery, and instead it looks as if Microsoft is going to break into yet another market first. Had this been pushed hard by the community. I could guarantee you that the PS3 would have seen at least a million more units sold by this point. That would have been a serious value increase, and it would have drowned out a lot of negativity.

The issue of agendas is a real issue. It doesn't matter whether you have one or not, the agendas of are a direct cause of the response you're writing your thread about. Gebx was banned for having one such agenda and his actions have soured the response of other people. Remember many people on this site follow this logic; Reach a conclusion, support with an arguement and back it up with facts. Essentially they are covering up trolling with what appears on the surface to be a factual argument.

I remember this many times when people from the Sony camp would come into the Microsoft forum to stir up trouble. So in a way if this was a response to just those people, and just those people were effected then the current Anti-Sony brigades actions would be justified. However you cannot conduct such actions without effecting innocent parties. Now I would love to join in on this, it would be a lot of fun to deliver payback for all the annoying posts/threads I had to witness. However by doing that it would come straight back at me, especially if Sony gets back on their feet in the near future. I choose to not propagate this, and really it doesn't matter who started it, I want to help end it.

Tease.

I approve of this thread.

@dmeisterj LOL that's funny.

This is a good point. Vgchartz is one of the good communities left out there on the interwebz. Most forums are full of little kids who ask the stupidest of questions. Or trolls who think the console wars is a life or death situation. It's fun being able to compare the consoles in a civilized fashion which is why Vgchartz is the only game forums I exclusively use now. We need to uphold the fact that vgcharts is yes a more serious community, and in which the users of Vgchartz should be held more accountable for there posts if we'd like to keep it that way.

To be completely blunt, I see much of the negativity coming from Sony supporters, whom of which I wont name. I myself mostly post on nintendo related stuff because I own a DS and WII. But I notice people always dropping sarcastic comments about the wii sales, the wii lineup, and whatever else the topic is about. On discussions that are not about debating a subject and more about information upcoming games there is no reason for people to be making these snarky and sarcastic comments. Unless you like to make yourself look like an ass?

The topics about people closing certain type of threads is an example of fanboys trying to manipulate the forum. "these rrod topics need to be banned!" Or " these ps3 topics about low sales and what sony needs to do need to be banned!" These topics are actually pretty good reads normally, but the fanboys complain about reading them! Seriously if you don't want to read the topic don't click the open button. Is it really that hard guys?

Welcome to the human race!

I'm sorry, I've been bad. u_u
