Vista wants me to upgrade to SP1, the last time I did something like that all my thrid party programmes stopped working and stuff had to be re installed.

XP user, I want to get Vista, because I'd love to switch my OS between English and Japanese whenever I want.

But if Windows Office 2007 is anything to go by, it sounds as if Vista is overall less useful and more of a pain-in-the-ass.

I use Vista on laptop and XP on desktop so how do I vote? I prefer XP but use Vista more as laptop is more convenient.

it seems that users here are using about 80% microsoft OS
I guessed it would be alot lower!

Well, it is a lot lower than usual.  Linux has around 5%, as opposed to the real world ~1.5-2.0%.
