13 RTS games are in the list. Platform Breakdown:
PC - 12
X360 - 2
PS3 - 1

Some of them should be in a unbelievably high quality level: Starcraft 2, Empire: Total War, Dawn of War 2 and Demigod.

Mmm, easily the best genre.

I need to get back into RTS. When I upgraded to Vista a year and a half ago, I kind've got out of PC gaming (too many compatibility issues at the time), and just haven't gotten back into it since, outside of Supreme Commander and it's expansion. I'm really behind!

oh man, i used to play rts games on the pc all the time. i love em. that list looks AMAZING! demigod looks quite interesting.

I'm still not convinced Halo Wars is going to be good.  They even showed some in game footage today of what I can only assume it a near final build which didn't look bad until the Scarab entered the scene.  Watch the video and you will see exactly what I mean...

Demigod and Worldshift look pretty amazing looking, been looking into those 2.

Edit: Which one is PS3?



  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

Why is it looking very promising? Ive seen nothing to differentiate it from other RTS's on Consoles besides a horrible sales boost strategy of tacking the Halo name on it. I dont know many frat boys that will put down the FPS and play an RTS. But thats maybe just me.

On topic, while there will be alot of RTS's I have yet to see an RTS on a console that was better than mediocre. They are just still a PC genre, the controls are typically just too demanding for a controller. So all the Console based ones for me are a wait and see proposition.

As for the PC, there are alot of RTS's, but the PC hasnt really been a massive presence in the circles that determine the "Year of" catagories. Im sure it'll just be the Year of The Shooter like the last 2 years. :-/

 



I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.
