Ok, here I go. I've had all of the systems starting with the NES to Xbox360. I had the first playstation, but it ended up being a bust because I only bought 5 games for it (Resident evil 1 & 2, Tekken 3, Metal gear and GT3). I got more playing time on my Xbox, because of the Panzer Dragoon series. Panzer Dragoon 2 (Saturn) Which led to pt. 3 on Xbox was unbelievable, especially the early stage where you destroyed the ship from the inside out. Chronicles of Riddick, wow!!! Need I say more? That was the best movie to game adaptation ever and to some it even eclipsed the movies. Last, but not least the Halo series. The first Halo was a masterpiece. There was no game on the Ps1 or gamecube that had a more compelling story than the first Halo. I mean it was just captivating.
Those games on the Xbox had me hooked, but remember I had a Ps1. Resident evil was and is the most scariest series ever, even though Silent Hill is close behind. Tekken was a let down, because it was over hype by Sony fanboys. I ended up preferring Dead or Alive. Metal gear made a big first immpression with the stage where I had to switch controller ports to beat the guy with the gas mask (played the first Metal gear on NES). I wasn't into racing games, but I got GT3 again, because of Sony fanboys and this time they had reason to be fanboys. GT3 was truly the best racing game at that time. Those were basically the cream of the crop on PS1, but they weren't as exceptional as Halo 1 or Epic as Panzer Dragoon 2 (Saturn).
I ended up shelving my PS1 when bleem came out for the my Dreamcast. For those who are not familiar with bleem, it was a device that enabled Dreamcast players the capability of playing some top PS1 game disks on the Dreamcast which also enhanced some of the graphics. I never got into the Grand theft auto thing until it got to the Xbox. Sony fanboys killed it when they ranted and raved about "My system has GTA. I can jack cars and shoot anybody" and then "I can shoot cops and steal their cars, oh and its better than Halo". What was the point and what an odd comparison that was. Every one was doing it. Frankly in my opinion, it showed how much of a beast Halo was when it was being compared to a very exceptional game (GTA3) from another genre. In the FPS genre no other game came close, console wise it was a massacre. The PC users got into the foray, because they seemed to be getting jealous and some what left out.
The battle got harder, but Halo pushed forward and legitamized itself as an icon like Mario. I never really enjoyed FPS until Halo. I played Duke Nukem and Doom (the originals from years back not Xbox Live versions) they were good, but not Halo good. When you think about memorable midnight launches, you think of the televised, media blitzed and record breaking Halo. Whether you were strictly a PS fanboy or Nintendo fanboy Halo resinated period. It lost a little bit of its luster, but Halo ended up with re-inforcements in the form of Gears of War. The meat of Gears success was the detailed Lancer chain-saw executions, again wow!!! I'm not focused mainly on the gore, its more so the detail in this overall package. This is the beast number 2 for Xbox.
What was a let down in gaming to me was all the fanboy bull crap that is spilling into legit review sites. To make it easy I will not list names, but all the reviewer that gave GTA4 a perfect score (10) should be ashamed of themselves. It should have been rated from 8.5 to a 9 at the most. I enjoyed and finished both GTA3 and GTA San Andreas, but there is no passion for me to finish GTA4.The most overated game in history. It did not deserve the hype or the scores and the playstation exception is slowly, but surely wearing off. Gamers are branching off to other systems and for good reasons. Reviewers are being influenced by Sony's past dominance and bitter Sony fanboys who feel like crap when they see games look just as good, if not better on a cheaper system price wise not capabilities wise.
It takes years to get a game like MGS4 and KZ2 to come out on PS3. In my opinion its not worth it. I chose not to go with a PS3, because of my past experience with the few games I got for my PS1 and 2 other reasons. Reason number 1 - Where is the big jump in graphical horse power compared to Xbox360? None, MGS can be done on Xbox360 even if they have to use more disks. Reason number 2 - You Sony fanboys don't give Xbox360 credit for anything, your too bias for no reason be a true gamer and give credit where it's due (Halo, Gears,Fable etc...). There are Xbox fanboys out there too, but Sony fanboys take the cake. Now that past Sony exclusives are on Xbox, Sony fanboys say they were Ok games or they flat out don't like the games anymore (Devil may cry). Are they serious. Now they cling to an exclusive that's not out or has been proven yet (KZ2). It looks good, but not good enough for me to get a PS3. The straw that broke the camel's back was when Square decided to support Xbox and these Sony fanboys started going berserk. Are you kidding me? They can't be real gamers, they're fanatical lame buckets. GOTY will not be MGS4 (That goes to all the Sony fanboys) or GTA4 (That goes to the reviewers who were influenced by Sony fanboys to say the superior version was on PS3).
