Nintendo's Wii and DS may be as popular as ever, but the head of the company's UK arm says there's still so much potential for attracting new audiences to games.

"We really have only scratched the surface in terms of the number of potential users still out there," Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton told MCV.

Although the whining from fanboys on all sides won't be. You know whatever Nintendo does to expand the audience has to also somehow magically involve hardcore gaming or else it's the end.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

We already knew this, but I think I just wanted to reassure myself a bit more!

“It’s not the Pikmin that Mr. Miyamoto referred to, no,” said Nintendo of America sales VP Cammie Dunaway. “Mr. Miyamoto referred to a new Pikmin, as opposed to the classics that are being rereleased on Wii.”
