I think it's a good idea, it encourages people to play more games and play more games to some point of completeness. I'll be interested to see what the incentives are.

There has been such a rumour WAY back (some months ago) that getting certain trophies would lead to discounts for other online games, and such.

That got major "wow, that would rock"-answers, but this is also very nice (maybe a step into that direction? :D)

Yes I agree, At the moment trophies are only for bragging purporses. It would be nice to see Sony implement a feature that encourages and rewards Getting the trophies

I expect some kind of reward within Home. Maybe a better apartment or items that you can only "earn" and not purchase.

Depending on what those rewards are, this is great. Discounts, or getting into the first batch of private betas (like the Killzone 2 private beta) is great. Making those that have a bunch of trophies "elite" and letting them get stuff that everybody else should have, bad. Let's wait and see if this is true and what Sony's move is. This can potentially put Trophies above the Achievement system.
