I use my wii with my old crt 27" TV in the basement and its ok.  But I want to use it with my 1080p LCD.  Theres not many games I like on the Wii but the ones I do like are great.  So i bought Component cables.  Didn't help at all.  I really was crossing my fingers because DVD's still look good on it.  Anyways all I can do is put the sharpness to the lowest setting, contrast lower, etc.  Any other ideas?

I did this a while back and thought the difference was huge. It looked great and the only game that was disappointing was Wii sports ss it really brought out the horrid jagged edges.

Ouch how big is your tv? The Wii looks ok on my 42 inch LCD in 480p, how are the colors with the component. Does it look too jaggy, could it be a problem with the tv settings?

do you have the Wii set to the correct mode in the settings? it may still be set to 480i and non widescreen.

It looks great on my 32" samsung - i'm getting the same model but in 50" and I know it'll look good on that also.

From what I've heard, plasma televisions are much better suited for lower resolutions. My ps2 with component cables looks horrid on my 40inch 1080p LCD when it runs at 576p(PAL).

Changed the settings..... It was on 480i non widescreen.

And I'm much happier now. Still fuzzy and has alot of motion blur but it is 480p on a 1080p tv. To be expected.

BUT OVERALL a huge difference!!!! playable. Much more playable! Thank you everyone. Consider this thread closed. :)

I got component for mine. Its sharper, but for some games, and in my case, SMG looks more jagged. Its kinda distracting because its so much more apparent with components. Least the GC games look better =D.
