Forums - Gaming Discussion - For your friends without a current gen console:

Would you recommend they buy anything other than the system you own?

I have one really good friend with a PS3 and an 360 (He had a Wii but sold it. A move I really can't fault him for, he is a testoterone gamer: shooters and sports.)

As for the others (This is our Risk group):

1: He is probably the best at all genres of games among us, seems to enjoy a good FPS, loves puzzles games, plays a lot of Guitar Hero on PS2, and has a soft spot for Nintendo. The kicker: he is really interested in LBP.
PS3 (Wii close second)

2: He talks about three IPs: Madden, Rock Band, and Prince of Persia. He would not play online or play enough to worry about DLC.
360 (Arcade)

3: He doesn't play games much at all. He bought an XBOX because he was trying to "get rid of some money." He loves movies and having the most high tech of everything.
PS3

4: This is a tough one. He is a bigger Nintendo fanboy than me. For example: he will play single player Mario Party for hours to get all the stuff. He loves Galaxy, Brawl, and Kart. But easily his number one IP is ... Final Fantasy. I think he died a little when Nintendo lost the franchise. Still...
Wii (PS3 a very close second)

Yes, I could recommend another system that I don't own as I try to be open minded. Currently the system I have, the Nintendo Wii isn't for everyone even though they try to be. They do lack typical hardcore games in comparison to the other two. So if a friend of mine wanted to get a system and wanted a lot of hardcore games and top notch graphics was a big issue and didn't particularly care for party games or have a soft spot for Nintendo franchises, then I would recommend he get a different system than I have.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

I think most people would recommend the system they own because they obviously bought it because they think it was the best option (excpet maybe for some 360 owners who didnt have the patience wait for the PS3).

Buy a PlayStation 3.
