Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Bioshock Screens: X360 vs PS3

The funny thing about it being released for the PS3 now, is it will drive up sales for the 360 version for people who missed it the first time and don't own PS3's.

I played the demo last night with my friend we both own the 360 version. We were not impressed by the PS3 version. The PS3 version also has an issue with backgrounds loading. For example when going up the stairs at the beginning after you get out of the water you'll notice the stair case in front of you is dark the texture doesn't load until you are near it. That was the only case I saw of this but since it's a demo you can't go that far. I'm sure there are other places in the game where this happens.

Is the demo the same demo that was originally on the 360/pc? I remember being really impressed with the demo on the 360 when I first played it. That's why I ended up buying the game for the 360 actually (last year). Seeing the game coming out for the PS3 has actually made me go and re-visit Bioshock (360 version obviously) and I still think it looks pretty damn good. I'd think that having a whole extra year to work on the game for the PS3 that it would look at least as good as the 360 version.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

they are identical... the only diffrence is the way the PS3 and Xbox 360 produce light and color.

@NNN2004

Personally, I didn't have any framerate drop when playing the game. I heard it happens when you play in 1080p mode.

PS : the 360 version doesn't have anti-aliasing either.

I had that happen on the 360 whenever I quickly rushed through just after a level load.

Bioshock's probably the most polished UE3 game besides gears and it also suffers from texture loading issues...
