What's Starz Play?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Starz's catalog of movies that it is offering for digital distribution services to purchase.

Sci Fi is already available on Hulu. It's pretty easy to stream stuff from Hulu.com to your TV for most TV shows, and as a bonus its free unlike the 15+ dollars Netflix+live will cost you.

I think Hulu is still just fox and Universal but I can't think of any shows I watch that aren't either on Fox or NBC or made by their development teams. Bones, House, 24, Heroes, the Office, The shield, Rescue Me, It's always sunny in Philidelphia, Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development (if you haven't seen that show go to Hulu right now and watch it! Funniest show ever!) ect. I don't mean that as a knock on the 360 (not like the PS3 has Hulu) but a knock on CBS and ABC in general. I mean what is there, Dancing with the Stars and CSIx7?

It always strikes me as funny that somehow CBS and ABC have the best ratings and yet all the good shows are on NBC and Fox. Who are these people who watch crap like dancing with the stars and not the raw awesomeness that is 24!

Really though the sort of catch all I've found is downloading in packages from Pirates Bay and streaming the Divx files to my PS3 (it plays Divx without conversion now). I don't download movies/games but I do download TV shows I can't find online for free with ads. Maybe some people will claim its morally wrong or something, but how can it be wrong to watch something that I could have TIVOed myself for free if I had wanted to pay for Tivo? Flame on that if you want, but you can't pirate something people give away for free!

Great news.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
