...just back out to XMB regularly and back-up the save, if you die, restore the back-up and resume.  Alternatively, as you die quit to XMB, though depending hen it begins to auto-save this may have risks.

Either way open to abuse.

I'll rent Dead Space 3 only, sadly the online trophies will deny me a platinum for it due to online pass.

True. So in the end, maybe Dead Space 2 would still be the harder one...

And pity there's no local co-op. Gotta have the online pass and find someone to do the Carver missions.

Here´s what u can expect from Dead space 3 difficulty. May be harder than the DS2

...just back out to XMB regularly and back-up the save, if you die, restore the back-up and resume.  Alternatively, as you die quit to XMB, though depending hen it begins to auto-save this may have risks.

Either way open to abuse.

I'll rent Dead Space 3 only, sadly the online trophies will deny me a platinum for it due to online pass.

True. So in the end, maybe Dead Space 2 would still be the harder one...

And pity there's no local co-op. Gotta have the online pass and find someone to do the Carver missions.

Yes, I read that too that nothing is stopping you from inching along your progress with saves and re-loading if you die. Pretty disappointing as I really enjoyed the challenge of Dead Space 2 hardcore mode only allowing 3 saves. Also liked coming here to share the stories of my untimely demise with others who were attempting the mode :)

Hopefully the cool unlocks you get for beating all the DS3 modes will make up for it. I read we are in for such some cool stuff! The Hand Cannon you unlocked in DS2 hardcore was cool, but you didn't have anything left to do when you beat it. Looks like DS3 with its 4 modes will give you enough playthroughs to use weapons unlocks. I only ended up using the Hand Cannon in the DS2 DLC.

Is Dead Space 3 good? I've heard it sucked, but I wasn't sure if I was interpreting what I was reading correctly.
