And they realized that charging for Windows Live was dumb, so as long as it's not a mediocre port, I think it would be recieved better than the first one.

Even if people don't want to believe him, 6 months exclusivity will do what's needed for Gears and the 360. Personally don't like waiting months and months to play a game others can play on release day, so the swollen wristed ones can deal with that. :D:D
