Yeah, but there are many things going for the PS3 in the future. Things such as Blu-Ray uptake, software, price cuts, etc.

Sure the 360 and Wii will have software and price cuts, but that really isn't  hindering the 360 nor wii at this point. The Ps3 is still at a pricepoint that consumers can't commit to, and is not offering enough compelling software.

Sony has alot going for it in the future? The problem with that is that the future never gets here. Sony always has alot going for it in the future.

Logically, mathematically, realistically, by any sane gauge....no, not gonna happen. The PS3 is not going to gain 6 million on the 360 before the 360 reaches 30 mil.

Sure, if that happens I will eat crow. Because right now that prediction is just stupid as hell.

Well... I have keep hearing "just wait until..." since 2006.

it started this year in 08. Before this year, (when you heard the wait until's) PS3 was getting destroyed by the 360. Remeber?

Sony fans said wait until 08, and then what happened..?   BOOM, they were right. (at least the less dramatic fans were)

Now in 08, the PS3 is actually outselling the 360 by a large margin. It was undefeated this year until just a month or 2 ago.

(until this small 360 surge).

But to expect anything to happen in a dramatic fashion, is wrong.

A slow pace of increasing sales will continue to decrease the overall worldwide gap between the 360 and PS3. A gap which will not be completely eliminated until Holiday 09.

The gap is over 5 million and the 360 is less than 10 million away. The PS3 is going to have to make massive progress for this to be even close. Lately the 360 has outsold the PS3 for a few weeks. If the price drop comes through and they can carry that momentum through the holidays there is no chance for the PS3. At this point if the pricedrop doesn't happen it's still probably not going to work out for Sony.
