Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will the Wii outsell the legendary "PLAYSTATION2"?

A few things that the people saying no need to remember:

1) The Wii is drastically ahead of the PS2 for this period of its lifetime, IN ALL REGIONS. Look at the PS2 sales numbers for each region at this point. The Wii is doing better. You can't blame regional winnings on the late EU/US releases since you're measuring from when itr eleased in those regions.

2) Nintendo has specifically stated that they don't like the "five to six year generation model" and that they want to go a different direction this time around. You can guarantee the Wii will see extended production well into the next generation.

3) The NES and SNES both were produced well into the Gamecube's lifespan. Yes, you read right. NES. Produced new right next to the GCN. All the way into 2003. What's to say they don't dot he same, but better, with the Wii, the most successful system ever?

4) The "new ideas" that Nintendo's run out of are the ideas they had when the Wii was first created. They created those ideas four years ago. So what do you do when you have no ideas left? You think up new ones. I guarantee, since that logic is covered under "Being Sentient 101", they've been working on creating new, wonderful ideas. And looking at what they've done in the past, I'm confident we'll be pleased.

Yes. It's tracking well above the PS2 in all territories, and was doing that even before it had good games. Unless it... magically drops off faster than any console ever. But still... yes.

Well up til now I've been saying no across the board. And I think I'll continue to say no.

So a no for Zucas.
