I think it's a good deal.

http://news.punchjump.com/article.php?id=6415

Beginning July 27, Best Buy will retail a bundle that includes a 20GB Xbox 360 Pro, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and a 26" Westinghouse LCD HDTV for $749.97 after an instant $200 savings.

dam...that is a very good deal.

meh, its ok.

$300 for 20gb.
$80 for GHIII.

That leaves 750 - 380 = 370 for a craptasting westinghouse 26" lcd.

Same tv for $400. So, in reality your saving $30 (or $10 if GH3 is without guitar). Still its a savings, but the tv is pure crap. IMO, electronics is one area where name brand does matter. Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, etc, those are the companies you should look for. I would spend the extra $200 and buy this:

$578 Samsung.

Isn't westinghouse the brand that has all the problems with their HDMI's working improperly, not up to standard or not at all? I think I heard something to that effect..

I won't vouch for how well of a deal it is but I will vouch for the TV.

We have a small 32" westinghouse TV for the bedroom we got a few years ago at black friday and it has been flawless. I also have a friend who bought a 42" 1080p westinghouse and it's been great. Sure there are better TV's out there (you get what you pay for in some respects) but I haven't seen any issues with mine or his. It's a budget brand for sure but one of the better budget brands IMO. You'll do much better then a vizio, emerson, or insignia I think.

The only brand of TV I will never purchase again is a Samsung. I purchased a 42" a year ago and had to return it about a month later. I've also had 2 friends who've had to return a DLP and 40" LCD. Both in under a year. I know others on the internet swear by them but with me and the people I know first hand with the brand 0 for 3 isn't good odds.  If you want a higher end tv buy a sony or a kuro.

yeah, it is...

I'll take insignia over Westinghouse any day. Seeing how insignia TV's are at least made by LG.

there's no diversity because we're burning in the melting pot

26" is probably a bit small for a lot of people now moving into the HD TV market..( except if you buy it as a second TV for a gaming room).

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

They are?

Anywho...thats a nice deal but for $750 thats a steep price considering most probably have a HDTV. I wouldn't take that deal though.

Not a bad deal for my daughters room. She would love a tiny HD to watch her cartoons on, and play games. I could swap out my old core with accesories for the new Pro in the living room. She gets a 360, I get a new 360. Win, win!!
