Forums - Sony Discussion - ecurb opinion on: Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP..its extremely hard! HELP!

I just bought this game recently and I just can't seem to get the hang of everything.

I like the battle system and stuff. It's just when I try to advance to another part in the game I get into this random battle and my characters tend to die and the A.I. tends to completely thrash me left and right!!

Is there any strategies I can use in this game.

By the way this is my first ever Strategy/RPG.

I'm thinking about giving up and trading the game in for God of War for the PSP.

Gamefaqs?? No wait.. Gamefaqs!!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

well never thought about that site. I will look into it thanks bro :)

Hmm, let me think. It's been a while.

First, use those random battle for the EXP & JP. You'll need it. In the early stages, you get the short end of the stick thanks to lots of guest. Try to have 5 members (including Ramza). Train the last one in random battles.

Now, what is importaint is try to focus on getting jobs. By getting a job to a certaion level you can unlock more. Also, focus on what will help your team. Get some good combinations. For your first two, Chemist and Squire get Throw Rock and Accumulate for the latter, and potion, eye drops, and antidote (the other status effects wont come for a while). A chemist or someone with Items is pretty good to have. Also, females make better magic jobs and males make better physical.

Also, the way your facing determines how easy it is to hit you. Always face towards your enemy. If you can, but your back to a wall. If there isn;t one, just try and face the most foes.

@smashchu2

I always try and face my enemies when I make the right choices. Right when its the A.I. turn they seem to get me from the side all the time. And I hate those wolves where when you hit them they for some odd reason counter my attack all the time!!!

It's annoying. And my attacks only take at least 20 hit points off the enemy. The guests seem to always get killed in battle and not last long. Every time I try to use a Phoenix Down to bring my party back to life. The A.I. Seems to target them and kill them again...lol

Hard game indeed!!!

Someone just isn't hardcore enough for FFT. I mean, it's not that hard. FFT is the only SRPG that i've ever played.

Simply put DMeisterJ. You just stay on VGChartz all day and do several other things game happy so really I wouldn't know what a hardcore gamer is....

I guess I am just a casual gamer after all...

Yes sir.

You must be casual if you can't handle FFT.

I haven't played FFT, but I've played both FFTA games and both are pretty easy. Real strategy is almost never required and most missions are a walk in the park. I don't think that there's much difference between the PS1/PSP games and the GBA/DS games in terms of difficulty.

Of course there is.

The GBA/DS is for kiddies.  So it's easier.

Thanks it must be possible for a casual gamer like me to not know how to play a so-called easy Strategy/RPG

yup...that is awesome.
