I'm making a complete guess but I think sales will drop 10-15% week to week for three weeks and settle out at the 70,000 range.

Yea but I'm 99% sure the 360 will win. If we assume that the PS3 sells 15,000 which is a good week and the 360 sells 3,000 then the 360 still wins by a hair.

It will stay at 75 to 85k until: 1. stores sell all 20gb stock and 2. the 60gb is introduced and the price is back to $350. So maybe early September.

I predict the ps3 looses this week by 3k and comes back next week to win by 20k or so.

I would say about 2-3 weeks of it being high, those closer to 70k for the next ones

Japan preview for this week says 14k-18k for PS3.

I dont know if xbox 360 will win ps3 this weak

its weeks like this that make me genuinely beleive the 360 will stay above ps3 sales till 2011, and by that time the next xbox will be just around the corner, also remember that microsoft KNOW when the right time will be to drop the 360 to $199, they said themselves they have a rough date pencilled in for this to happen..... hence the ps3 aint catching up to 360 anytime soon.... BELIEVE

I'd guess 2-3 weeks of strong effect and some more weeks of a somewhat smaller, fading, but significant one.
We still don't know whether it will give it a WW victory too, to do it Japanes gap must be smaller than 14,000.
Anyway, it must be recognized that MS knows how to boost sales in its home market, while Sony still has to find its way in Japan.

It looks like price drop is doing XB360 much better than announcing getting FF XIII, MS will be surely digesting this and trying to elaborate some new strategy... Too bad information overloading hits also giants, and getting broadly different feed-backs in different parts of the world looks like it's confusing everybody bar Nintendo.
