Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony: “Fully Robust” Home Coming This Fall

They call it beta because Home will only have basic but fully functionnal features at first. Some areas (like for instance the trophy room) will probably still not be implemented for the fall release but later.

If it's the full thing, why make it a beta? Only reason i can think of is that they still might have some technical problems with it.

Unless it's normal to launch a fully featured beta, i don't know to to tell the truth.

Gmail is beta, and millions of people use it.  Some might go out on a limb and say that linux in any version is a beta, and millions of people use it.  They may be releasing it as feature complete, but who better to do all the QA and bug testing than your customers?

Bethesda's Todd Howard "if install base really mattered, we'd all make board games, because there are a lot of tables."

Feel free to add me ...

Sweet, thanks for info Spartan

Thanks for the link, that's great news about home, i was thinking it will never launch in 2008. The only way the video download service in the US will be succesful enough will be to push those vgue and allusive PSN cards, enough that more major retailers are carrying them across the country, because i dout theres not of enoughof a significant number that uses a credit/debit card ( i for one lost my new debit cards in the mai no downloads for me). But it is great regardless, and the more feautures rolled out to PSN, the more appealing it looks.

Btw can someone please link major movies owned by sony? thanks
