Forums - Sony Discussion - Firmware 2.4 question, how did the update go for you?

At NeoGAF there's a huge survey asking people if the new firmware caused consoles to stop functionaring.

Apart from a very small minority who experienced minor issues, nobody seems to have experienced the issues reported by especially the US media:

NeoGaf membership is relatively hard to get to, so there are relatively few fake accounts. Here on VGChartz this may be a little differnet, but did anyone's PS3 actually stop functioning with the update?

My PS3 and those of my friends had no issues whatsoever.

no issues here

No problems, but it is rather useless.

hmm yeah it works fine, but none of my games have trophies yet and none of them can play music ingame. So for now the update is useless.

Get Super Stardust HD (IMO must have rocking game!), it provides a good taste of the trophy system, other games will receive updates to include trophy support, like Uncharted, BurnOut Paradise, Warhawk others like LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift will support them out of the box.

Super Stardust HD of course already supported custom music before the update. The update lays the ground for such functionality, games can be updated and Sony probably demands support for newly released games.

The biggest thing in the update is in-game XMB access.
