Forums - Sony Discussion - IGN says Sony's trophy system will walk all over Xbox 360's achievements

Gaming has changed. It's no longer about fun, challenges, or storytelling. It's an endless series of point whoring done by gamers on machines. Gaming - and its consumption of life - has become a well-oiled machine.

Gaming has changed. ID-tagged gamers play on ID-tagged consoles, use ID-tagged accounts. Specifications inside their save files enhance and regulate their rewards. Trophy control. Gamerscore control. Parental control. Region-specific differences control. Everything is monitored and kept under control.

Gaming has changed. The age of next-gen promises has become the age of control... All in the name of averting catastrophe from casual gaming and waggle. And he who controls the most features... Controls the console war.

Gaming has changed. When the consoles are under total control... ...Gaming becomes routine.

Truely awesome. Nice steal =)

I don't see how any versions is better.

So instead of having a gamerscore you get levels? yay...

i still find both of them useless and just a grind, but i can see how people like them, just not this much!

It'll be a nice way of keeping track of what games you have played, but I suppose game saves do the same thing...

Wow, one guy says he might prefer this new system over Achievements. Demise of Xbox Live confirmed.

The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

A gamerscore is pudy next to the trophies. You can get 1000pts easily for beating games.

Serious win detected in this area...

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

different , "better", it's all good and I don't give a damn about it (trophies). XMB is nice, easy and quick as it was, the only, I'd dare say, "integral" thing that was missing was the in-game messaging feature which is very valuable for those who are part of an online gaming community, anything else is extra (free extra at that) thank you Sony for your efforts.

The title of the thread is TOTALLY misleading (I actually READ the whole god damn article).
Why isn't this thread locked?
