Most on high, and some on very high.

What is your rig like? I keep trying to edit my posts, but I'm too slow I guess. :( It's also very late where I'm at. I should just go to sleep. ;)

Thx for that, the reason I ask is b/c I want to build a gaming PC and you mentioned being able to get a ~$500 one that could run it with good performance so you seemed like the guy to ask.

Well mine added up to about 700. Here is a good pc that will run crysis on high for 500 dollars. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-graphic-game,1907-4.html

Great link, thank you for that. :)

It should be:

Does MGS4 on a $399 PS3 look better to Crysis run on a $399 PC?

And I think the answer would more often than not be yes.

Even if you're right, it's a bit unfair to put it that way, since most people NEED a PC anyway. A PC does much more than a PS3, so let's not pretend we can set equal prices for both and expect to be doing a fair comparison of PC+Crysis versus PS3+MGS4 performance.

What more does a PC do, that a PS3 cannot?  I'm pretty sure, you could create programs for the PS3 that would operate similarly to what works on a PC.  Also, I have not even mentioned the BR drive either.

Crysis is a beautiful game that requires an expensive PC to run at it's highest settings.  MGS4 is a beautiful game that probably isn't as nice looking as Crysis on Ultra High, but certainly looks better than what a $400 PC can offer.

Anyway, this is a stupid thread anyway.  We should be comparing games in this generation and PC's aren't part of this generation.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

When The Conduit comes out we should have a thread "does The Conduit have better graphics than Metal Gear Solid 4?" because that is a similar comparison ... The GPU in the PS3 is similar to a Geforce 7800 whereas to get Crysis to play at the detail demonstrated in the screenshots you need a Dual Geforce 9800; realistically, this puts the diffence in graphical processing power of the PC at somewhere around 4 to 8 times the graphical processing power of the PS3 (which is similar to the difference between the Wii and the PS3).
