Forums - Gaming Discussion - LOL, Who thinks that XBOX 360 J-RPG announcement infuriated Japanese Gamers

I think Sony need to make Legend of Dragoon again....

To the person who said about SE killing itself:
Sony will bail them out OR atleast by the rights to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest and then hire the whole Final Fantasy XIII team aswell as the Dragon Quest team and if they are really feeling up to it buy tri-ACE aswell. This is all speculation and probably won't happen but it would be a nice sigh of relief i would be having right now if it did.

All i can think is WTF are you doing Sony unless they have something rather spectacular for E3 because for the past 2-3 months they haven't said anything... AT ALL!

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

I think Japanese gamers are too busy playing their vast library of RPGs on handhelds to notice.

Good luck hauling that PS3 with you to play on the train during the commute to and from work/school.

Yeah in a similar fashion we used to carry our GC's/PS2's to schoo/work , WTF u talking about.

Japaneese people don't live in trains.

The DS (and to a lesser extent the PSP) are phenomenons in Japan because of their portability. Unlike the US, where we just LOVE driving cars around by ourselves, a much larger percentage of the Japanese populace use mass transportation to navigate to and from work, school, shopping, etc. The portables are huge in popularity, and one large reason for that is because they are perfect time killers for that hour long train ride to/from the office.

They've sold nearly as many DS systems to the Japanese populace as they have to the US population, but to not even half the number of people. Hmmm... wonder why that could be?

It also doesn't help that in a lot of schools(including mine) in the US, using portable electronics are prohibited

I would like to hear some japanese gamer over this.

Mathematically speaking I would say 550K 360 owners (or less as some may have switched to PS3 or Wii) are probably VERY happy. And 22 million quite unhappy.

I think SE and Namco with decisions like these are paving the way for a non-japanese console taking the reins of gaming and make them their bitches in the near future.

And this will hurt a lot SE Ips....

Anyway ,the 3 big SE RPG are Dragon Quest ,Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts ......not even Star Ocean comes close to this.

Yeah, Japs like wierd games and hand-held systems. They could care less about an american monopoly's console. It is probably a good thing they didn't take over the world when they tried.

I think that it is interesting that the same people who argue that people are holding off to buy a PS3 until a certain game is released believe that these same people would not buy an XBox 360 regardless of what games get released for it ...

I'm guessing more systems are sold in the US for use as cheap babysitting. Lazy bloody Americans hate interacting with their kids. (I speak as a lazy bloody American, albeit one who utilizes condoms to stop polluting the planet with offspring.)

The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

Whether americans want to believe it or not, Microsoft did this to boast Japan's 360's image, it wasn't for the U.S. If they thought Microsoft was doing this for them, they're crazy. Why else announce this IN JAPAN? But also, whether we want to believe it or not, It's image is also tarnished because of its american roots. buying the 360 helps america's economy, buying a PS3 helps Japans. you get the idea.

But personally, i think this announcement PISSED OFF Japanese Gamers because they're probably waiting for a Bigger PS3 JRPG Library before purchasing it, especially from S-E. But this annoucement that S-E sold out to Microsoft and has made exclusive or timed-exclusive JRPG's for 360 while still shunning what the Japanese want, it's probably pissing them off hard-core lol. I mean you've already tried big named JRPGs for 360 in Japan, it failed. Why not give PS3 to show it can sell them 2-3x more?? But no, these announcements keep pouring in to save the 360 in Japan and i think the japanese public are saying "WTF???. We don't want your stupid console, why do you keep torturing us???" lol. If it's going 360 exclusive and not multi-plat, you know they're gonna be pissed and end up boycotting their games until they realize it.

If Microsoft's goal is to keep doing this until they finally give in, the XBOX 720 will already be out and they'll still ignore it

The Japense must be more loyal than the Americans. I see Toyatos left and right in the U.S...

japanese gamers aren't pissed, why would they be? they may be confused though. why release a big rpg on the one console that it will sell the least on in japan?

Another one dies....

Former something....
