Well according to square enix president, compilation of FF7 will go on until the 20th anniversary of FF7's release, so a remake at that point in time (after it's aged significantly like how FF1-6 has aged) would not be out of the question.

As for it appearing on the 360.......................................... no comment

I'd snatch there hands off for a re-make....Hell I love the first one that much I've bought two additional copies off ebay.

One to keep playing as I never really took care of my first copy. The other to keep in pristine condition!

If a new one came I'd buy two for the same reasons!

In regards to it appearing on the 360....doubt it!
