One comment... Crackdown!!! Do you have the Beta for HALO 3? Its good until the 10th. Get your internet running, Now!!!

They keep updating the Beta and it keeps getting better and better. I led an 8 person team into a big battle, and I cannot get enough.

Crackdown itself is a great game after you level up your running ability.

Try out Dead Rising and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Those are my favorite games on my Xbox 360.

Has your 360 froze up or overheated yet? Mine froze after just 5 minutes of playing the very first day I got it.

No freezing or overheating.  I have it vertically in a fairly open space -- no shelf above or anything close to the sides.  I played games on it for about 5 hours and watched some of the included movie clips on it.  It didn't shut it off during that entire period.  It was quiet and well-behaved.

I didn't experience problems the first month of usage.

My troubles started after I left the console on for the night to download GBs worth of demos and performed a system software upgrade, the next day I played these demos. And the first crash happened with Gears of War the next day.

I have no worries keeping my PS3 on for the night to do some folding, but I wouldn't recommend the same for the XBox 360.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Lol, I bought 10 games and Halo 3 will certainly be on my short list.  I haven't even played Halo 1 or 2 yet so I've got some time yet before 3 needs to be on my shopping list, but yes, I'll try to get it checked out here before it expires assuming my wifi connector makes it before the 10th...

I guess we'll find out soon enough.  I have a wife and daughter that play games a lot and they tend to walk away and leave the console on at the "menu screen" of whatever game they were playing.  Time will tell, I guess, but I do have a year warranty and if bricks, it bricks, and I'll deal with it.  I'm not going to dance around the supposed heat issues and constantly worry about it.

I love my 360, for me is the best system but not many games for kids, in my family we enjoy a lot playing DD revolution, that is a family game and there is nothing better than your kid laughing at you when you try to coordinate all those steps.

My recomendations are, GRAW2 and R6 vegas (you already have GOW and Crackdown), oblivion, forzamotor2, well actually I own around 30 games and I love most of them, just download demos and try everything.

Congrats on buying the best available console out there... see you on-line, specially if you like GRAW2 team sharpshooter... it's amazing, the best on line expirience.

Jav, why are you saying there are no games for kids, then mention a 360 game (DDR?)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I love my 360, and my two young daughters (3 & 4) absolutly love Viva Pinata:

Little known fact about viva: 2 controlers work togeather. Give your child one, you hold the other. You can both control the cursor. It's kind of like student driving in a car with two steering wheels.

Graphics & Gears: Everyone who is underwhelmed by Gears and other 360 titles apperance that I've spoken with are all running on SDTV. I suspect you are as well from the brief description of your set up.

I know HDTV's are very expensive, but if you want a taste of what it can look like, grab the 360 VGA cable it and plug it in to your computer monitor. Then crank up the resolution and enjoy.

After about 30 minutes, thoughts of how to save up for a reasonably sized HDTV will start to flow through your head.

Enjoy!

enjoy you're new console. i've had one since launch and have since replaced it twice. hopefully the same misfortune won't befall you. they got alot of games, but beware of game like oblivion. oblivion may only cost $60 up front, but you'l be spending at least $30 or more on xbox live to get all the new content. too many time have i spent twice the game's value to truely enjoy it. and don't be suckered in to buy all the add-ons, because in the end you'll wish you bought a PS3.
