Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Super Smash Bros. Brawl Official Updates

Here is a pipe dream that is completely unrelated to the latest update.
(Although SHAYDAS vs. Link up there look very cool)

Put Pac-Man in this game, and his final smash could be a power pellet which turns everyone into ghosts, and the game breifly transforms into a maze, where players franticly try to avoid getting munched...

I really want this game... the possibilities are endless.

Predictions For Last Full Week of Sales in 2010)

WII - 80.35 Million

360 - 43.88 Million

PS3 - 41.40 Million

More terrible predictions coming Jan. 2011!!!

I like the culmination of new and old in this game. You have the nostalgia of characters of old and you have new characters to love/hate.

This balance in the game is crucial. While ALL Nostalgia would be just fine, I do appreciate all of the effort that is going into creating these new characters for the game.

However, if the story mode were only centered on these characters as the enemies, and include none of the Nintendo baddies, then the game would loose some of its charm.

You can really see that they are putting a lot of effort into making a great game.

Naznatips, I do believe there was a video or written article interviewing Iwata in '05, where he stated Brawl would utilize Wi-Fi play out of the box. I think a similar interview also stated that Brawl would be the Nintendo game to fully utilize the Wii's online capabilities. I realize this was a long time ago, but up until this week, it at least meant that Nintendo WAS working on Brawl online, and hopefully still was.

Here's one link: http://wii.ign.com/articles/670/670552p1.html

Even if it wasn't a definite thing, articles like that sure threw fans off.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I'm quite sure there will be PLENTY of nostalgic characters in the single player mode. Don't forget Petey Piranha was shown as well...I'm sure they'll include plenty of old bosses and enemies. In fact, these Smash characters may just be mini-bosses, and the old Nintendo characters would be the big bosses...we'll see.

I know they said there would be wi-fi functionality, but they just didn't say what it was. We knew there would be something, but it could have just been something like MP3's friend vouchers.

@Words of Wisdom,

Ouch. -1000 for fanboy points. Robotic Operating Buddy. They were NES robots that pressed the buttons on the controller in a few games...probably more popular in Japan...I never had one, but they've referenced ROB in a lot of Nintendo games, like Star Fox, Pikmin, Animal Crossing.

-1000 fanboy points?  I'm not sure whether I was just complimented or insulted.

Out of those I've only ever played Star Fox.

...now I feel like playing it again to see that reference.

Thanks for the insight!

Yeah, I meant to mention Petey and R.O.B. as the balancing to these new characters.

Best week ever???

i think so =DDD
