Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Did Bloom Box sell bad? (Referencing GoNintendo who are referencing VGC...)

It's funny how some Wii owners are crazy about Boom Blox since...only recently. What a difference a few good reviews can make.

Threads upon threads about nearly every promising 3rd party Wii game. I'm a bit disappointed that no one shouted "EVERY WII OWNER MUST BUY THIS" yet in this one.

3rd party support angst still wide-spread. Phantom pain from the GC era.

Personally...message understood - it's a good & fun game, but still not interested in Steven's new masterpiece.

And the sales? Million seller one year from now.

Man, talk about bad attach rates. Even ludicrously bad/niche games on the 360 usually manage 40k on their opening week in the U.S.

That's just the first week. Those games don't always last after that. Not that all Wii games have legs, just your point appears like a fallacy just to claim the Wii can't sell 3rd-party games.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Is overpriced, cost the same than MKWii or SSBB

We'll see in 20 weeks whether or not this was a bad opening.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

This game should have some legs...

BTW

didn't Pokemon Blue/Red do 25K in JAP in its first week

ZOMG the Magic number!

You're already on this site, but you didn't bother to look it up?

It did 265k

Overprized? Not in Europe: BB is 36€ on amazon.de, 12€ less than MK.

I tell you what's overprized: 3rd party Wii games that cost more than 1st party games.

I'm looking at you, NMH & Lara Birthday.

Lara...still 60€! Why, oh why? Well, English ladies aren't cheap, I suppose.

The amount of people attempting to dismiss this game based on one region first week sales are astounding. This was not even on the "big Wii games list" when I signed up and suddenly there are people from every inch of the forum trying their best to tear this game down based on so little as if it threatened their own console's existence.

Is this some sort of 'revenge' I missed before I got here?

I am SuperLloyd!

(Im)patiently awaiting the Dawn of the New World!

I feel that EA marketing screwed up big on this one. If they made one major change to the box, I feel that this game's first week sales (and lifetime) would be much higher than they are so far (and going to be).

If they put "Steven Spielberg Presents" in Very large print above "An EA Game" in very small print, then the title in slightly larger print than "presents", instead of having "A Steven Spielberg / EA Game" in small print and the game's title in large print. I think this game would fly off the shelf. If non gamers could easily see that Steven Spielberg had a part in the game I think they would highly consider buying it.

Another 3rd Party screwing up Wii packaging. They must have their 3rd string graphic designers working on box art (like Capcom with Okami).....
