Forums - Sony Discussion - is mgs4 getting more hyped than halo 3 was?

MS sent that MD flavor to gamming stores. The game crazy by me had cases of them. After Halo 3 hit they still had cases. They gave one to me.

Seriously nothing will top that.

How about a permanent new MD flavor?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Perhaps it's for the best that it's not getting uber hyped. When this happens to a game, and then it turns out only to be a good game (rather than the 'super amazing ZOMG revolutionised gaming!' thing many people were expecting) it goes down in history as being terrible.

Example: the origional Killzone.

I don't think many, (if any) games this generation will top the hype machine that was Halo 3.

Okay, if it seems as though there is no way to top the hype machine that preceeded Halo 3, this popped into my head as the best way to top it, the one kind of hype you'd think a major video game would never have.

THQ to make games based on Metal Gear Solid 4.

MGS4 can't do this.

I played Killzone 1 without even knowing it was supposed to be hyped up beyond reason. I still thought it sucked.

Tease.

I think so. Not in America, but around the world the hype is equal.
