nope

and wow talk about a HUGE waste of money. my buddies would spend $50 every couple weeks buying pot, that is EACH, not as a group. so since on game site, essentailly every two weeks you could either BUY A NEW GAME or BUY POT

If it was legal then they wouldn't have to spend so much money on it (and taxes would go to the government not lining some drug dealers pocket).  I wasted a lot of money in the past on it but I really don't care.  I have too many games anyways that I haven't even played.

In my younger days, I believed this to be a good arguement for legalization, but (remember) if it was legal most everyone who wanted it would just grow it.  Sure some would opt for the more processed and refined stuff, but taxing pot won't bring in near the revenue as taxing alcohol and tobacco.

For the record, I have not ever smoked, nor do I intend to do so.  I had many friends who did, and I found the contact highs alone enough to be unpleasant.  I also do not drink or use tobacco or any other drugs.  However, I have become a libertarian over the past decade or so, so... do as you must.

EDIT:  Truth in advertising statement:  I will admit that I drink a lot of teas (not the sugared, flavored crap just earl grey, green and black).  This will save someone who misunderstands my post from trying to enlighten me about the hipocracy of not consuming alcohol, pot etc. and drinking a caffeinated beveridge.

How many people grow all of their vegatbles and fruit? Not many people would be growing their own. It takes space, time, and effort.

Pot is a fine recreational drug like alcohol. I've always been around at least somebody who was smoking pot at some time because my circle of friends often rotates every 3 or 4 years it seems.

Unlike alcohol though it's damn annoying when you don't know anyone at the time who has any. Like you're simply flat out of luck.

.

Also, future legalization of the drug is not out of question for many of the reasons mentioned. Gov't gets great revenue and people growing on their own is not that practical. The drug can be legally restricted towards certain users depending on age, health, and priory felonies (just like alcohol or other legal drugs), and parents actually have more control over the situation as well.

One reason we are so polarized on this issue is because there are three groups. People who use drugs a lot, people who use them somewhat, and people who don't use at all. The middle group there is the smallest group of all of them by a longshot, so debate is too fierce for progress to be quick. I belong to that middle group and i wish more people did.

Marijuana is illegal.

Anyone who's breaking the law is obvious a criminal.

You either haven't thought this through well enough, or you know nothing about weed at all.

Or maybe you know nothing about economics...Hmmm, which one is it.

What's wrong with being in that group?

There isn't anything actually wrong with being in that group.  Not morally, generally speaking.  But it's not charitable for the public debate on soft drugs like marijuana.  It doesn't help advance the situation when those two opposing groups are the biggest (people who use a lot, and people who don't use period).  Those two groups are the most biased and they create a very dichotomous view of the consequences involved with legalizing the drug.

I simple wish more people belonged to the middle group because they would then be groomed towards understanding both sides better.  And that is where progress lies I believe.

No, a waste of my time. I don't need to get high to have a good time. On the same note, I don't think it's a horrible thing in moderation. I think we should probably try to legalize it, and treat it like Alcohol, put a sunset on the bill so if things get out of hand we can revert back to the current laws.

"with great power, comes great responsibility."

Well this is my drug history. I Started smoking cigarettes when i was 14 right before freshman year. Shortly after school started, I started smoking pot but is was more in moderation than a priority and to the surprise of most of my friends I passed all of my classes that year.

Smoking pot became more of a priority when sophmore year started and then i got into dip, pain-killers, and alcohol. Towards mid-term time, getting high would just make me depressed instead of the happy, giddy feeling (both my parents are depressed and one has anxiety so maybe its like a hereditery thing kicking in early). In late march I quit everything altogether except cigarettes and dip but all my grades have suffered pretty badly for the whole year and now I will only be able to pass 3-4 classes out of the 9 i took this year.

Luckily If i try harder I'll still be able to graduate on time, so nothing except cigarettes and dip is going into my system for the rest of my life.

At this point in my life I could care less if Pot became legal or decriminalized Now I'm just nuetral about it all.

So I was wondering how many of you weed users don't smoke?. I try not to smoke. I am a runner and a mountain biker and I hate for the drug to destroy my lungs. I use thc teas and baked goodies to remedy this. Does anybody else not smoke to get high? I even had thc popsicles and they are a great healthy alternative to smoking.

He could be referring to coke heads and heroin junkies.
