Gamespot is corrupt and pretty much accepts bribes.

Why do you think that? Where is that coming from? Most of the time I find GS's ratings to be close to what the average is.

From what I gathered: A good game with a great core gameplay and some nice changes... but:

The story is shit

I mean you could say that about 100% of Pokemon games.

There is a difference between "the story is shit" and "the story is simple". Most Pokémon games have very simple stories, but only a few of them have shitty stories.

They fired editorial staff back in 2006 for not liking an advertised game enough. It was a pretty big deal at the time. Half the Gamespot staff left in protest.

Well that explains why they gave Sekiro a 9.

I can already see the amount of toxic the reviewers who gives it an 8 or above will receive.....

Pocky Lover Boy!

Eurogamer's review speaks so much truth that it makes me sad...

Just one more sleep until I can experience the games myself!

The game apparently has no dungeons... From Eurogamer's review.

"the lack of a National Pokédex is not the problem. The real problem with Pokémon Sword and Shield lies much deeper, or rather where that depth ought to be. There is far more than a whiff of troubled development to these games, brought about by an astonishing lack of complexity, texture, and flavour in almost every place where you'd usually find it in every Pokémon game that's come before you'll reach an entrance to the next section, bathed in some mysterious, eerie glow and - oh! - it's not the deeper, inner level beneath the surface; it's the next town, and the end of this place you expected to be a dungeon altogether. This happens time and time againIn fact, Pokémon Sword and Shield is entirely dungeonless. There is no route or cave or building or wood more complex than Red, Blue and Yellow's Viridian Forest, the tutorial pseudo-dungeon at the start of generation one. Nothing in the game comes close to even Mt. Moon or Rock Tunnel, let alone the twelve floors of warp-pad mayhem in Silph Co."

Looks like the anti-game freak movement had hardly any impact as it's scored like any other Pokemon game.

Currently sitting at 80 on Opencritic. That doesn't mean much right now though. IGN hands out high scores like candy. Gamespot is corrupt and pretty much accepts bribes. Then there's the joke newspapers of Metro and Daily Star that are almost guaranteed to hand out lower than deserved scores.

Waiting on Destructoid, Gameinformer, and Easy Allies. IMO those are three of the best review outlets.

"Pokémon Sword & Shield are strong first attempts for the series’ full transition to consoles. While some frustrations hold it back from true legendary status, this new generation proves the Pokémon franchise is still great more than two decades after its debut."

I think it is quite funny that a few people who did nothing but rag on Pokemon have already started their "it didn't deserve those scores" defense..... when we don't even have a single review yet. Man people get ahead of themselves around these parts.

I find that funny too... anyway, I've been watching videos today, and I actually think it looks good, even beautiful in areas.

I just picked up the special pokemon switch lite for my daughters xmas present. I'm going to pick up both versions so her and I can play together.

I've never played any in the series, so my opinion is, it looks fun, and the town and open area with the pond look fantastic. I cant wait for Christmas.

Now, for the vocal ones trashing it... I would guess most werent going to buy it even if Nintendo smashed everything into the game and it scored 99. I dont get people who trash things they're not interested in.

My guess is... an 84. It looks like a good, fun game. I'm excited, just to play this with my daughter. Shes my little gaming buddy.

Fixed my prediction. Thanks for the heads up about making it a single score and not a range.
