Do the Black Eagles non-church route. Then get back to me.

I'll test the shield positioning later on today to see if it works or not. I thought it did.

When they finally release lunatic mode I will, but I do believe ya. If it nullifies all physical damage than yeah that would be a real pain in the rear with most gambits being physical.

A) I'm not sure what being a purist has to do with new game+, it's literally just an in-built part of the game, not even DLC. If you want to still play from the ground up for the clean start, or because you want to keep reminding eveyone how good you apparently are at strategy that's your own choice, but I don't see why you have to be limited to either/or.

B)

Spoiler!
Play the Crimson Flower route.
I'm not sure if it's meant to be the 'true route' or whatever, but the way the game's designed they might've expected people to play that one last, so there you go.

The way I see it, the first playthrough is raw/pure, and that is of course without ng+ benefits. Semantics aside, like I said that's what's fun for me. I wasn't trying to flex, just putting my thoughts on the topic out there like everyone else, but if that's how you wanna take it I have no problem with that lol.

Ah shoulda figured it'd be like that. I will play all the other routes once lunatic mode drops.

Is lunatic mode really a thing? When is it due out?

Yah it was confirmed: https://www.nintendoenthusiast.com/2019/07/25/fire-emblem-three-houses-lunatic-difficulty/

As for when is unknown, but I imagine it will release alongside one of the dlc updates, so as early as next month, or as late as next year.

Does anyone know if you accumulate renown with each play trough ?
If you play a third time at NG++ do you keep your first and second play trough renowns?

Hmm. Well I typically spend all my reknown as soon as I get it. I might have ended the game with 3K reknown due to having nothing I could afford at the time. That would mean that final boss gave me 4K reknown then.

Spoiler!
You can buy support levels, skill levels, and class abilities with reknown, so long as you leveled them up in a previous playthrough. You can also buy crests. Once you've stacked three or four crests on a character and assign an adjutant with maxed out support you almost always have something activating on certain characters.

They don't refund you renown they just give you about 4k to start the next playthrough. If they refunded it, you should've had closer to 40k.

Does the renown you didnt spend carry on over?

Pocky Lover Boy!

Man, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is awesome! Currently playing the Golden Deer house. Will play the other 2 sometime after I play Guacamelee 2, Astral Chain, and Link's Awakening.

Yes! I had 7k reknown when starting my new game+ file. 4K from the final boss, and 3K unspent. Just checked my old save files to confirm it.

Oh nice. Thankyou!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Lysithia, Ingrid, and Petra are my favorites.

Ingrid as a Falcon Knight just wrecks everything. She dodges almost every attack and always counterattacks twice. Her ability to use Swords and Spears means she can counter any weapon.

Lysithia has ridiculous range and can use all types of magic. She learns all skills twice as fast as others.

Petra is awesome with her ability to crit them if they are below 50% HP. Combine that with her +25 dodge ability and she dodges almost as much as Ingrid only to counterattack with a nearly guaranteed crit.

What you mean by the bolded? There is no weapon triangle in this game thus no weapon countering, everything is equally effective against everything. But yeah Lysithia is OP! That Dark Spikes T is able to 1-shot most things without even doubling, can even be used to kill the Death Knight during the early encounters with him. She's also the only one afaik who gets dark magic that can be used on all paths (r.i.p. Hubert). Then of course you have Warp shenanigans. Haven't used Petra yet, but I'm currently doing Blue Lions (I thought of a way to make it more interesting to say the least hehe), and Ingrid has been a top performer for sure. I'm of the opinion that everyone can be really good, since everyone can be any class and use any weapon, that means everyone can be in the best classes.

I'm currently on my fourth and final run, now at Chapter 16 of the Blue Lions. This time, I've recruited every available unit, and am keeping them all levelled/used equally, so that I can pair them off as I like at the end of the game.

Petra, Dorothea and Lysithea are all ridiculously good, I've used all in every run so far, and they're so useful I can't get them off my team. Petra dodges, doubles and crits everything so she's invaluable, Dorothea can use Meteor to hit the boss on the first turn, and Lysithea is just a walking nuke, nothing stands in her way.
